We have two cats. To help keep the letterbox situation tolerable, we installed a cat door, which has been great. Then, this morning, we woke up to this (apparently slept through the gore) ...

Anyone else get these kinds of "gifts" IN your house?

If you have indoor/outdoor cats, you're going to get presents like this sometimes.

Cats are alpha and proud of it. He's telling you don't skimp and go with the cheap generic cat food or this could be you the next time.

Oh, and you're lucky it was a rabbit. Mine brought a garter snake in once - which went over quite well with the wife.....

Never had cats but the German Shorthair Pointer I had in high school would bring me fish from the tank just behind the house, cotton mouths, and occasionally a chicken from the neighbor's house a mile down the road and drop them at my feet when I walked out to start my truck to go to school.

My cat once left four dead baby birds in my weight room.

My dog woke me one morning puking on the floor. I could see what looked like guts and organs so I went to investigate and found a dead rabbit that had been eaten. The dog drug it into the house and ate him. He is a four year old yorkie.

Mu buddy's childhood cat killed a big wild rabbit and drug it in his parents bedroom window and into their bed. LOL

Yes, both my cats and dogs have brought in presents, both alive and dead. Rabbits, squirrels, snakes, birds, fish. You name it.

I had a tomcat that was especially good at catching fish from my neighbor's small pond. I feared for the cat's safety but the neighbor never caught on that it was Bucky doing the raids. Thankfully they weren't expensive fish.

Dead animals around the house are standard issue after you install a cat door. You might also notice your cat getting leaner, becoming a more efficient killing machine. Cats are predators. You've given them permission to go feral.

Wrong. Cats are WAY more alpha than dogs.

Cats are alpha. Those who own them are not.

No, only betas give two shits what people think about their having house cats.

Cats are awesome ... except when they eviscerate rodents on the carpet.

My outdoor cat leaves a bird at the door several times a week. I encourage her to do the same with the damned raccoons that get into the garbage cans, but she's having no part of it.

As for the alpha / beta debate, I don't care. I'm a guy. I prefer a cat over a dog for multiple reasons. It won't change.
