Percentage of the adult population lacking basic prose literacy skills according to the National Center for Education Statistics' National Assessment of Adult Literacy. LINK

EAST - 13.85%
Missouri - 7%
Kentucky - 12%
Tennessee - 13%
Vanderbilt - 13%
South Carolina - 15%
Georgia - 17%
Florida - 20%


WEST - Average is 15.85%
Arkansas - 14%
Alabama - 15%
Auburn - 15%
LSU - 16%
Mississippi State - 16%
Ole Miss - 16%
Texas A&M - 19%

Oklahoma at 12% ties us with 2nd place Kentucky. Missouri showing they don't belong in the SEC.
