Do regular people still pay attention to the NBA?
Seriously?
I lost interest in it about 20 years ago.
Racist? Who gives a frick because all humans are racist and only idiots, liberals, and feminists are afraid to admit it.
Stirling already won. He got all you dumb-asses to pay exorbitant prices to see a bunch of men play a boy's game?
frick that shite.

Attorney: D. Sterling suing NBA for $1 billion: Donald Sterling is filing a $1 billion lawsuit against the NBA
Donald Sterling isn't done fighting yet.
The banned Los Angeles Clippers owner is filing a $1 billion lawsuit against the NBA, his lawyer confirmed to ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne on Friday, one day after his wife, Shelly, accepted a $2 billion bid from former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to buy the team.
"The [termination] charges in the lawsuit are an invasion of his constitutional rights, violation of anti-trust laws, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract," Donald Sterling's attorney, Max Blecher, told Shelburne.
Blecher said the lawsuit was being filed Friday afternoon and "has nothing to do with the sale." He said Sterling is still weighing legal action against his wife Shelly, saying, "He's looking at it. That's a different kettle of fish. We just got the paperwork on that yesterday. There's been no decision made on that yet."

Is the one to pay attention to.

I just got a billion Sportscenter updates saying the matter has now been settled between the Sterling Trust and the NBA. I could be wrongly assuming that includes Donald Sterling.

I'm thinking that the assumption is that that old cocksucker wont have his own experts deem him mentally stable.

Yeah, he wont make any money from that time he spent being a miserable old frick and being forced to sell the team at the peak of their popularity.

I honestly think forcing him to sell is an easier punishment on him than a lifetime ban from all NBA activities.
It's like having a cake and instead of not being able to eat it you sell it back to the baker for 150x what you paid for it.

He's fricking 80 and senile, I'm sure he'll really enjoy it.

And I don't think he should be punished at all for the issue at hand. Guy sucks, he's a frickhead, and whatever, but this isn't the reason to make a dude sell a team for a huge profit.
It's a PR move, and the world is viewing it as a win against racism. It makes me laugh.

Strange him being senile isn't a proper defense against the comment that he was recorded saying in private. Strange, very, very strange.

I thought the punishment was excessive but I at least hope it leads to something I've thought for a long time should happen, and that is tougher punishments for athletes/coaches/owners for actual crimes.
Get a DUI? Minimum half season ban. Go to prison while still on an active roster? Lifetime ban. etc...
Athletes get away with far to much by their respective leagues. These monetary fines don't mean dick to some many of these guys.

I'm of a mind that this one may be the deciding factor.
