I feel you, you just have to ignore the 5 flamers/trolls and engage with the 1 or 2 people willing to have a conversation. Not always easy to do though

Anonymity makes people bolder and more foolish than if they were identifiable. That's why so many newspapers and other social media began to require Facebook logins to use their discussion forums.

The hateful and insulting rhetoric subsided immediately but there are some turds who make up FB pages. Still, they can be easily banned.

tRant could require FB, too, but that would kill the site. People here seem to want to engage on a more combative, even insulting level. It's expected and can be entertaining.

I ignore quips and insults if I find the topic really interesting. However, it's also fun to respond in kind, too.

I figured this out years ago. If you want to make a point and have a discussion make sure your post has at least 200 words all in one paragraph (MAYBE two). Oh and make sure your point is buried in the middle so they can't read the first sentence and figure out u mad.

The nimrods won't bother with it then, and the only responses you will get are legitimate.

Sometimes having a discussion on here is like trying to explain that Madden defenses are not real and that offenses actually use what the defense is giving them on plays. My favorite one though is "If I was him I would have...." So many times I want to say if you were him you would have done the same damn thing he did.
