Woody Hayes is a good one. He literally got fired while the game was going on. That's impressive

Funny too.

At the Sugar Bowl last year some Ohio fans tried to claim that Hayes was better than the Bear because Hayes wasn't a "womanizer" or an "alcoholic". Bear may have done all of those things, but he never beat up a 20 year old kid.

thought about Pete but he really was not a GOAT
Rose has more career hits than anybody in baseball. He broke Ty Cobb's record, which had stood for about 60 years. Rose has held onto his record for about 30 years.

The Cos-- arguably the biggest sitcom star of all time, literally a surrogate father of a generation, ends up being a serial rapist.

Damn, just another reason to hate Adolph Rupp.

He had already announced that this would be his last game.

If France wins, the guy has a goat legacy, he was already basically seen as the best player of his generation.

So you hate a guy because he turned a guy in for going well outside the rules?

Interesting.

Do you even understand the difference between then and now? We have 1 and dones now but back then freshmen did not play and the kid demanded Rupp not only play him but start him as a freshman.

Different place and time my man, different place and time.

If you are saying there were probably more but we did not hear about them due to not having a cell phone stuck in their face every step of the way, I agree.

Correct, also in reverse tho, some people are now famous only because they get media buzz. Johnny Football comes to mind, rode the media above his ability. Fizzled so far in the pros.

I also believe Hulk Hogan belongs on my list. He was certainly the GOAT at one time and burned out in numerous scandals.

Nah, didn't really hurt him, he still has a good enough image for Wrangler to use him as a spokesperson.
