I thought for sure Alabama woukd be one. it's not like every Alabama school kid aces the ACT, so this waste of time teaching other than scientific facts and theories would be retarded.

I'm a Christian and I think this is dumb. There is evidence that points to evolution. I believe that evolution exists, but God created it that way.

Some people are so narrow minded that they can't comprehend the two going together.

Let people teach scientific fact, and teach the different theories out there, and let people decide what to believe on their own.

I used to work with a Penticostal preacher(Very nice guy) and he told me that Dinosaurs never existed.

This.

People who are of our faith are always preaching "God can do anything" but don't think that evolution could have been a way that he created man. It even says in the Bible, man came from the earth, and will return to the earth. Organic molecules are found in dirt and that's where evolution started. Therefore proving that we evolved from the organic molecules found in dirt, which means that what the Bible said is true. We did come from the Earth.
It is infuriating sometimes how people don't want to think about things like this.

I believe species evolve and adapt to change. I will never believe man evolved from apes/lesser species. Nothing has ever been substantially proven this, imo.

I really don't get it. I believe in God and evolution and have no problem reconciling the two. People who argue the two are mutually exclusive are stubborn, dense or both.

We can find 500 million year old insect fossils, but none that show an evolution into what modern man is. You can find deformities like elongated skulls and the like..and you still have that today in certain ritualistic societies that deform themselves or mutilate themselves as a tribal custom.

At least that's a more respectable opinion than new-earthers who claim the planet is 6,000 years old.

We have PROVEN beyond all doubt that the earth is on the order of billions of years old. We have not "proven", and probably never will prove, that man evolved from apes. That being said, there is STRONG evidence that we did.

The theory of evolution, as it applies to species in general, is all but undeniable at this point. It is very tough to provide a conclusive link between man and apes but the evidence is really to strong for me to deny it. By the way, want to know the quickest way to tell whether or not someone speaking about evolution knows what they're talking about? Whether or not they distinguish between micro and macroevolution. Many ignorant people think they are two different things.

Right because obviously no hominid fossils have been found

I will deny until they can absolutely prove it. Til then its theory. I don't belive the earth is only 6k yrs old and I do believe species adapt. I don't belive humans evolved from animals though and its not been proven by science.

So you admit that species evolve, but that they don't evolve enough to form new species?

If so, then all you're saying is that micro evolution occurs but macro evolution doesn't, when all macro is is many micro mutations compiled together enough to be different enough from the original species

Humans are animals.

And yes, human evolution has been proven.

Hominid fossils could easily just be an extinct ape. It had a thicker skull and very small brain. Nothing proves it developed into humans. Its theory. Much like scientists theorized the earth was once flat. Science changes all the time.

Do you even know what a scientific theory is?

No, they never theorized that. They simply guessed at it.

There is no evidence supporting the flat earth theory, while there is tons of evidence supporting human evolution.

Huge difference
