I don't understand how you "teach" Creationism.

The relative redshifting of everything observed outside of our solar system tends to support the idea that everything is moving away from a single point, so nobody is really going to be able to say with certainty that all mass emerged from a single incredibly dense pocket of energy, but data seems to lean towards that theory.

I didn't read anything other than the thread title and started laughing. People that continue to dispute a very observable trait that occurs in all life make me laugh.

You don't.

People who say "teach all sides" are fricking stupid. Why should our schools teach something that has absolutely no evidence at all supporting it?

School is for science
Church is for faith

Let people put them together how they wish

I don't mind the discussion that it's a hypothesis (or theory depending on who you ask) that a large amount of people believe in. But I don't think it should be "taught" per se. Because you're clearly stepping over church and state boundaries at that point.

Trying to eliminate teaching evolution is by far one of the dumbest political moves I've seen in awhile and that's saying something. At this point it's just a power play by some asshurt Creationists who are pissed that Creationism isn't taught in public schools.

I don't republicans will change their views enough to win the presidency.

Evolution should be taught in schools. Creationism will soon go the way of other superstitions.

Scientists never theorized the world was flat.

When people thought the world was flat, there was no science. There were no peer-reviewed scientific journals, nor any experiments attempting to prove or disprove a flat earth.

BTW,

Man didn't just evolve from apes. Man is an ape. Man is in the ape family.

believe species evolve and adapt to change. I will never believe man evolved from apes/lesser species. Nothing has ever been substantially proven this, imo.

I'm not sure the title of the article is accurate. You would probably have to sit in classroom to know for sure if in fact the curriculum is a "challenge" to evolution. The natural selection aspect of evolution is well established and no longer a theory from most perspectives. However, the initiation of life as we know it on our planet is very much a theory. For all we know (which we don't which is part of the point), earth could be a giant chemistry experiment created by an advanced intelligence. We really don't know how the conditions which led to life on earth happened. The Big Bang Theory seems plausible considering what we know about the basic forces of gravity and expansion due to heat but it still doesn't explain how these forces came it being the matter/energy that are affected by the fundamental forces. The best we can do is simply say we exist, otherwise the infinite chicken/egg loop results. As such a theory of intelligent design seems credible since in fact evolution led to life with intelligence.

So when will our next evolutionary phase begin? Will humans evolve into Sasquatch? Or will Africans evolve into Chinamen?

Better understanding of nutrition probably accounts for this more than evolution. North koreans are 1.5 to 3 inches shorter than south koreans primarily because of nutritional shortcomings of the n korean regime.

This is gonna sound crazy..but in the last 3 months I've gained 15 pounds, grew a half inch, out grew my fitted hats, and went up a half size in shoes.

I'll be 25 in April. Am I hitting a second growth spurt?
