First weekend of college football is near, any rituals/traditions you have?

First weekend of the year I always make a pot of chili and a pot of queso and give thanks that football is here!
Unless I go to the game. In that case I just get pissed while tailgating.

Keeping track of all the making out wifey owes me from when TAMU scores, since she and I are living apart again this season. Hopefully this'll be the last time I have to do this

I'll be smoking two pork butts, making homemade bbq sauce, and some beans. I'll rub one but with a recipe I have, the other in nothing but Conecuh seasoning. I'm looking forward to trying to Conecuh butt.

It is the first day I allow myself to have anything pumpkin or octoberfest flavored. Will generally have some form of a pumpkin breakfast (Pumpkin French Toast or something like that) Then for my six pack it will be a pick 6 all of fall seasonals. Will get one LandShark to go along with the start of OM game.
Also will shave in the morning then grow out until we lose.
Also the Mrs has dubbed this day "My Day" and I get to make all the calls for everything from food, drinks, people over, and everything.
This opening Saturday is literally my favorite day of the year

I used to get excited about the first week. Not so much these days, I work Saturday, so I'll DVR our first game against SEMO.
Don't get me wrong, I look forward to it, but it really starts for me when we hit the SEC slate.
Hard to get excited for directionals and such. It's kind of preseason, unless you lose to Indiana.

I always sacrifice a virgin while tailgating on game 1........started this in year 2 in the SEC. Working so far.....may sacrifice 2 to get us over the hump in the SECCG.

Always go dove hunting and listen to the first game from the field. DVR'ing it and watching when I get home late Saturday
