I attended Ole Miss.
Money is important but I think living where you want is more important. I could have made more elsewhere but live where I do because I am close with my family.

A&M Construction Science. Got 2 years in the Big 12 and 2 years in the SEC.
Make more than a majority of people the same age with my major, but not near enough to make up for the BS that comes along with construction

I graduated from Samford but could have gotten in Bama, Auburn, or anywhere else in this state for that matter.

I studied PoliSci at UGA. I now run the install division for a fence and access control company. I do well for myself, not going to list my salary.

Competent access control is in big demand.
Integration with surveillance and biometrics is all the rage, and becoming audit standards that alot of enterprises are being forced to adopt. People that know how to do that are working 60+ hours a week for $100 an hour around ATL right now.
No college degree required.

We're one of the biggest companies in the state and our techs are totally booked until the middle of August right now. It's insane. We don't get into biometrics but we do a lot of gate operators, guard booths, pop-up bollards, wedge barriers, entry/breech detection systems for high security fence, stuff like that. Been a long time since we were this busy.

Data center work in Douglas County I presume.

We're based out of Columbia, SC, but install/service perimeter security and AC systems in the Carolinas and Georgia. That data center we didn't get, but utility sub-stations, solar farms, nuclear power plants, and military facilities are keeping us plenty busy.

Samford is a nice school and has a nice campus. Not any cheaper than a party school like Bama though which is a drawback.

It actually depends on the forum. In legal writing, it would be "a sec". At least, that's what I was taught and what is done in the practice I work for.
