I suppose some years down the line someone might call here looking for a reference. Maybe someone will remember I skipped out on five hours worth of work, but I doubt it.
The only thing they will say/answer is "did you work here", "what was your title", "how long did you work there" and " are you eligible for rehire"
So maybe the last question someone might say no, but they wont care a week or so from now.
the last job I left, I had three weeks to go, by the second week I checked out and just cleaned up stuff in our database because I was bored and that wasnt even my job. I didnt perform one task I was supposed to

You seriously dont have any vacation or sick days left?

Just do the work. And do it to the best of your ability. Leave that job satisfied that you did your best.
I try to treat all problems like I would treat a piece of pie...eat it up, and move on to the next one.
Works for me.

I thought I had set myself up pretty sweetly here, with two weeks off before I start my new job.
But I just got an email from my new boss. He said I'll have four vacation days I'll need to use before the end of the year. He suggested I take off Christmas week.

Any advice? I have like 5 hours of work to do between the rest of the day and tomorrow, and I can't seem to drum up the inspiration to do any of it.
Sit at the desk on Tiger Droppings. Whenever you get a phone call, answer it...then say..."why don't you go f** yourself"...then hang up. Repeat until the day is over.

Man I hear that. I am semi-retired and every day I think for a second about not going in to work that day. I enjoy my job and it pays very well but one of these days I'll wake up and say "frick it".
