Nashville mayor John Cooper just confirmed a case of Coronavirus in the metro Davidson County area. Since I know a lot of people are gonna ask, I don’t know what it means for the upcoming SECT. The league said it was continuing to monitor the situation.

The person lived in Nashville, therefore it could impact others in Nashville even if said person has been moved to Kentucky

One person gets Coronavirus = shut the whole city down. Amazing how our society loves to live in fear.

Some of the people here will still be denying it even as schools are shut down. It's really quite sad the political state our country is in.

That said, I don't think the SECT will be affected. There aren't a lot of cases in the communities that will be attending the tournament.

NCAAT is a different story.

What does politics have to do with common sense risk management? There is no point in shutting things down.

Why would you be freaking out? No one in attendance should be at any more risk of being affected due to proximity.

Jesus, some of you act like there is no middle ground between denial and running around like a chicken with its head cut off....

Politics has people (including some on this board) denying that the virus is a significant risk.

If you noticed, I'm not advocating for the tournament to be shut down.

"Common sense risk management" is difficult since our country's political system is reactionary, which is fine for most things but is disastrous for health and disease.

I'd say there is little risk to attending the SECT. Maybe just implement some common sense rules like most places where if you are showing any sort of symptom or have been out of the country to a high risk areas in the past three-four weeks, you can't go.

I got that you weren't freaked out. I was just saying that it was a dumb response because there is obviously 0 risk to going to a swim meet.

You're going to look very stupid in a few weeks for blindly burying your head in the sand. It's the Ole Miss way though, I get it.

Ridiculous. This is what hysteria looks like. It spirals further and further out of control.

The one person I know doing masters in that area was at a meet in sewanee, and she coaches at NAC I believe. Irrelevant for coronavirus, just confused on her location this weekend via fb pics. She won Olympic gold in Atlanta, before her sr year in h.s. Stalk her down and get an autograph
