Britney Griner - rightfully detained?

I don’t understand why they keep saying Griner was “wrongfully detained” if she actually committed the crime she was accused of committing. She broke Russia’s laws and plead guilty, don’t they have the right to detain her? If someone got caught smuggling drugs into the US, couldn’t that person be held in prison here?

Not a Griner fan. That being said, she broke their laws. I may think the law is bullshite but that is beside the point.

Not one post in this thread hinted a Russian sympathizeing. Grindr gets what she deserves because she thinks she is above the law. I hope she learns some lessons when the Russians are done with her.

She broke a law in a foreign nation. Expect to be punished. If it was something else that didn't involve breaking any laws then yes she would have some sympathy.
