mno way i remember bar names there. lol they didn't have any unique ones lke the Esso.

adios, i'm actually going over to clemson today, to the beach to swim. uga wish they had a lake beach on days lke this. wow

You need to edit your posts even more, it's pathetic.

So you have been to Athens twice and you think you know much about it?? Lol

We have plenty of unique bars, Blue Sky is one of the best.

Again show me your links. I showed you one that had at least 80 bars in DT Athens. I showed you where UGA has been no. 1 and is no. 8 this year. So show me your links of:

1. Clemson having more bars per student.

2. Athens only having 25 bars.

3. Clemson being no. 1 on a list of party schools.

Show me all of these things. Until then you can keep spouting off your nonsense and being obsessed with our conference.

You realize that a great college town isn't dictated by the quantity of bars? It doesn't hurt it's image by having a variety of different experiences to go to, but having that unique feature that separates it from other towns is what makes a great college town.

For example, Athens, GA has a great music scene and one of the better music venues in the Georgia Theater.

Clemson has its dirty lakes with a campus you have wear boots to hike around.

i wonder how many o those bars downtown Athens your average college kid goes to.

Um, all of them? They're not just there for decoration.

they probably go to the same 3 or 4.

Yep, the downtown Athens economy has all of these bars and restaurants but college kids only go to the same 3 or 4. You do realize that the Graduate and adult populations of Athens are not only not nearly as big as you're making them out to be, they're not nearly as active as the undergraduate population. But then you're operating on 2002 statistics so maybe in 14 years we can expect you to have caught up...

quote:

the cool kids at Clemson never went to bars downtown prior to turning 21, you just go to on campus parties which is every night. lol faking an id to go to a bar seems kind of like you are alcoholic. wow

Well, I've always wished Athens would develop a greek row of sorts where all of the campus parties could be hold within walking distance to one another and within walking distance to all of the dorms on Baxter Street. I imagine we could call it something like "Milledge Avenue" and it could be this picturesque stretch of greek revival and georgian architecture. That sure would be cool...

Been to Clemson many times: for football, for functions, and just to visit. It's pretty average for fun and not a particularly pretty campus.

It's obvious that most of the people responding to this thread haven't visited Clemson. If so, you really wouldn't feel the need to have an argument a/b the place.

Been to Clemson multiple times, both for gameday and non-gameday.

I'm arguing simply because it's something to do on a Sunday afternoon (hence I also haven't RA'd for the obvious alter)

the lakes aren't any more than any other lake. tons of people love swimming and boating on that 'dirty' lakte thugh.

i think the lakes and being near Blue Ridge is a unique feature. how many colleges have this. your point is highly illogical given the two things that i've talked about.

Clemson has a lot of unique things that you don't know about. The SC botanical gardens are located there, and a gemstone museum.

i don't care about quantity of bars. i'm poking fun of UGA fans for always talking about the number of bars.

Clemson has had U2 and Pink Floyd play in the football stadum in the past. the music scene is good enough. but realty is not a lot of people really care about live music.

i think that kind of architecture is ugly tho. lol don't see the big deal with the Georgia Theatre.

i forgot or didnt know that UGA was orginally and still is an ag college, like Clemson. so I view it more positively now.

You're fricking crazy if you don't think people travel and invest to see live shows.

I've met countless of Sector 9 fans who go see them live any chance they get.

If there's one thing I admire UGA and Athens for its the music scene. Widespread, Futurebirds, and your futile attempts to steal credit from Muscle Shoals for Drive-By Truckers... three of my favorite bands

You definitely have no idea what you're talking about. Athens is one of the most liberally minded counties its size in the nation.

Georgia Theater Concerts

can anybody tell me what band on Georgia Theater's upcoming schedule is worth paying money for. lol

if you go to UGA, you basically will have to go to Atlanta for a big name concert, just as CU typically has to go to Greenville or Charlotte. it is no big deal. generally concert season is during summer when you aren't at college.

Futile? Sorry, brah, but Patterson Hood may have gotten started in Muscle Shoals but DBT belongs as much to Athens as the Allmans belong to Macon despite starting in Jacksonvile, FL

the confederates were liberal Democrats, south was controlled by dmoecrats in those days. they had same view as Obama on economics, tax policy etc.

but i wasn't making a political stattement. i am saying it looks old, kind of like Charleston and Rchmond.

i like newer modern buildings mixed in with some old. that is what i like about Greenvlle.
