if you go to UGA, you basically will have to go to Atlanta for a big name concert, just as CU typically has to go to Greenville or Charlotte.

lot of people dont want to pay money to go watch a band play thatn you can listen to on CD or mp3 player while you do other stuff. most songs bands have are crap unless they are Tom Petty.

wut r the best bands georgia theater and other venues in Athens have booked htis summer and fall. plz don't say REM and B52s. lol

I know autism rates are up, and the economy has seen better days, but this just isnt the case.

Truth of the matter is 95% of people out there would rather spend a football weekend in Athens, Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, Knoxville, and Auburn than shitty little clemson.

Also, the real Blue Ridge mountains are in North Carolina. Blacksburg, VA and Knoxville are both better of you like mountains.

blacksburg is cold as hell in the winter tho and gets a ton of snow. i don't thnk it is better for mountains tho. you can see blue ridge from Clemson. mountains are mountains. NC has some taller peaks but still just mountains homey

Knoxville and UT is an eyesore. but in some ways, it feels closest SEC campus to Clemson b/c of the body of water and proxmity to mountains. Knoxville is more rainy and overcast and has higher humidty than Clemson. i will take the lakes over the Tenn River that runs through gritty urban area of Knxville and probably has dead bodies in it all the time. lol

and i doubt UT has an on campus golf course like CU. wow

crow, you must be silversppoon rich kid. i grewup poor in a humble agricultural area of SC. had to pay my own way.

plus you must realize you get into music a lot moore than most people. i lke music as far as just listening n car, etc but don't want to go watch concerts in general. i saw the allman brothers twice, and don't judge me, i tried to go see Oasis in Charlotte but they cancelled it b/c the two brothers were fighting again. lol

Normally I'd offer a few on that list worth paying for but I think it's just best if you stay in Clemson, SC since you seem to love it so much.

I didn't mean that I would go to all of them, but on any particular night I would be open to going to see pretty much any of them. It's not that expensive to pay $20 for a ticket every couple weeks.

Sure, but most people still like live music.

i like more main stream stuff lke Tom Petty and Taylor Swift..

u the one who bragged about georgia theater, i'm ust saying there are no big names coming there soon. how the h--- do you even know how good they are. i wouldn't pay for a band i never heard beore and let's face it most bands hav a lot of filler songs.

i generally don't lke more than 3 or 4 songs by a band. tom petty and tay tay are exceptions.

For someone who prides themselves so much on mountains, this is dumb as frick.

Birmingham , Al has mountains so it's just like being in Boone, NC right? Mountains are mountains, right?

Oh, and youre a pussy if you think Blacksburg is too cold and gets too much snow.

Never said they weren't all from Alabama. But, as a band, they are/were headquartered in Athens for damn near their whole run. Hell, Hood lived right off East Broad for years.

i majored in mech. engineering so i didn't have much time during week to go to live music, my profs owned my arse. lol

i don' thtink most people like live music as in, they don't want to pay for it. in your group of friends, yes.

btw, downtown Greenville is only 40 minutes away from CU and the Peace Center, and the arena have a ton of concerts. Greg Allman is doing a show ths summer at the Peace Center right on Main Street.

And they'll always identify more with Alabama. How many songs about Alabama vs songs about Georgia?

Well, good news, even awful acts like Kenny Chesney swings by to play every now and then. Derek Trucks, the Allmans, Dave Matthews Band, Beck, Umphreys McGee, The Police, John Mayer, Willie Nelson. All have played the Georgia Theatre. It's legitimately one of the best music venues in the state.

Cool? They still all lived in, recorded in, and called home Athens. You seem to be under the impression that I deny their Alabama roots when, in fact, you can't seem to admit that they're considered an Athens band. Hell, they play a "homecoming" tour every February at the 40 Watt or Georgia Theatre

I haven't seen Isbell yet. He came to Tuscaloosa back in October, but I opted out of it.

Going to see Widespread this August though.

Isbell is a mainstay on every playlist I have. He's up there with Sturgill Simpson in terms of musical acts that I enjoy the most.
