This simply couldn't be more true. The supporters of multiculturalism would have you believe that very diverse cultures can live alongside each other in peace and harmony.

The next time that plan works will be the first time. The path of multiculturalism ends with Balkanization every single time.

You can't be fillintheblank-America. You're either fillintheblank or American. If you want to be fillintheblank then feel free to be one in that nation.

PS: Before people respond "it's just Islam" then you must have forgotten the past....ever heard of the Crusades? Religion is the problem, not Islam.

Yeah... well considering the crusades happened nearly a thousand years ago, i'd say we've past the statute of limitations on that one.

Trouble is, the West is still viewed in the Islamic world as crusaders. Nevermind that Europe and the US (bar the bible belt) are very much post-Christian societies as a whole.

Any country in which the islamic population is a minority, you will see them concerned with minority rights and speaking about tolerance, etc. But in the vast majority of the muslim world (and in every country ruled by Sharia), religious minorities have far fewer rights and in many cases are openly oppressed and discriminated against.

For most of their history, the Islamic world didn't GAF about the crusades. The idea that a series of wars that happened 500-1,000 years ago is the root of radical Islamic terrorism is a completely 20th century creation.

The west is still viewed by Islam as being Christian. Perhaps my choice of wording was wrong, but hopefully the idea behind my statement was clear.

If you're saying they attack us because we're Christian then you're only partially correct. We're not Muslim, so that's part of the problem but the bigger issue is that we espouse things that are very different to their world view.

We let women be equals. We don't seek to murder our homosexuals. We don't demand you convert to one religion or die. We (sometimes) stand against groups that do those things.

That's why they attack us, not because there's some pent up angst over wars fought centuries ago. At one point, you could have argued with some validity that we were targeted because we supported the Israeli state, but even that's stale now. They're just evil doing evil.

CDC from studying possible solutions to make guns/gun laws safer, similar to how we've worked to reduce vehicular deaths. IF that is true, then that is unacceptable.

The CDC has no business being used by the Gov't to push political agenda's. Gun control and gun laws have nothing do to with diseases.

And once again, no matter how big the tragedy, folks want to ignore the root cause and attack Constitutional Right's that are not the Gov'ts to take away, except through a Constitutional Convention and Amending it.

1. The people committing these heinous acts are the ones to blame. Period.

2. If you want to find outside sources to blame, then I blame those that ignore and fear to discuss the real issues and would rather try to strip Rights from lawful abiding citizens. Those folks contribute to these attacks by burying their heads and refusing to discuss and do something about the real issues at hand.

Thank you, you've articulated it better than I could. I agree.

The real challenge is going to be in 30 years' time when countries like England/France/Germany end up with a muslim poulation that is no longer just a minority and will have the numbers to fundamentally change the culture through legislation.

Perpetual coups and civil war when people are oppressed enough. All one has to do is look at history to see what's coming.

There is a complete misconception that it is somehow easier to buy a gun legally than illegally. I can go to the bad part of town and have a gun in my hands by the end of the day, no wsiting, for less money than at an ffl. This man was a terrorist, who honestly thinks it matters if he bought the gun legally? Is he going to just not do it if he can't buy a gun legally, have a change of heart? Murdering all this people is fine but he draws the line at breaking gun laws, because that would be wrong?

Those terrorists in France earlier this year had automatic ak47s, but how? Those were illegal to have in france, so it must have been reported wrong. They killed those 130 people by having them licked to death by kittens. France needed stricter kitten control laws

lol, you have no conception of what the crusades were if you think that. They were primarily geopolitical in motivation, a military response to islamic incursions into western europe. Just because they were clothed in religious trappings didn't make them a religious wars. Everything was presented in a religious context at the time because the Roman catholic church was the dominant political institution. They could have all been athiests in western europe and you still would have seen a similar response out of necessity

Or is this type of tragedy just what we have to accept with both freedoms?

Yes

If you want liberty, you'll have to accept certain things including some abuses. Society is better this way.

You'll never prevent all violence, even gun or religious/ethnic violence.

It has nothing to do with pushing a fricking agenda. They did the same thing with making cars safer. There is no downside to seeing what they can come up with. The NRA is making it to where they don't even get the chance.

Agreed.

It will be somewhere in Europe first. They're further along in the process, but it could eventually happen here too.

IMO, the most likely scenario is a western European democracy collapses and triggers another continent-wide conflict. Lots of youngsters think that can't happen again, but the world is in a very early-1930s place right now.

That's actually quite accurate to the situation gun owners face in America 2016.

actually it does. They are trying to trivialuze the issue by couching the debate in terms of a public health issue instead of a constitutional and law enforcement issue. You do not have a constitutional right to own and drive a car, with or without a seat belt. You do have a constitutional right to own and operate a firearm. Now if you are a person who does not value that right or thinks we shouldnt have it, there is a clearly defined process for getting that done, and is called amending the constitution. The proper process is not treating the issue like it's a seatbelt (which by the way is also fricking stupid, you should be able to get yourself killed in a car crash if you choose to do so, that's on you)
