Most black on black murders are gang related. Those who are a part of this understand the risks associated with being in a gang. By participating in such activities, this renders them not innocent so it's not outrageous to the community when one gets shot.

Gonna need a source on the gang conjecture if that's okay. Because that sounds like grade-A copout to me.

An innocent person being shot dead by police, which is an arm of the government that we elect to protect us, is cause for outrage. We should expect better from our police and government.

We are in agreement about this.

Cops are just a product of their violent environment. If I were a cop I might have a hair trigger too, especially in high crime areas. When the neighborhoods you patrol don't respect the law, these things are bound to happen.

He either trolls the cop threads to get a rise out of people, or has little man syndrome that makes him bitter so he needs that badge to make him feel important and badass.

Poor guy probably received many swirlies in junior high.

That's the thing, it's not that complicated. People do bad stuff, and the bad mojo continues in their communities because these same people are having children and raising them. Sad stuff, but it's fact. Why is it my responsibility to bend over backwards and act like that's not what's happening? Why all the mental gymnastics from politically correct wanna-be-Pulitzers trying to make it something other than what it is?

i know that and you know that. most of the people on here know that. but until people stop listening to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and realize it's not a race issue but a culture issue we'll never move forward.

the question isn't a matter of acting like it's not happening. it's being able to get the message across without being blackballed as a racist.

what would you conjecture is the most common black on black violence if not gang/drug related?

i understand it's not "fact" per se, but i can't imagine it being anything else.

The race baiters like Sharpton are part of the problem. It builds resentment. It builds the meme of the institution determining you're future. It does get their name in the newspaper, so worth it.

all around, a terribly written piece that can only serve to enable the continuation of race based hate mongering.

First of all, gang violence and drug violence, while sometimes related, are not the same thing.

In my city we have drug activity but not any particularly strong gang affiliations. People still get killed though, because, well, people can get violent for any reason they like.

FWIW, I think school vouchers and charter/private schools being a good first step. Let the parents who want their kids out have options as to where to send their kids.

the ones doing the bad stuff usually aren't raising their children in my experience. Much of the time it is single mothers raising their children who are easily influenced by others in the neighborhood.

I'm sure it's a little column A, little column B. It's a question of percentages.

35% indiscriminately beating minorities with a knightstick. 65% ignoring the 4th amendment entirely and civil forfituring the frick out of people.

About right?
