I could jump on the Bran bandwagon. I agree with you that I don't hate him yet. I would like to understand wtf is going on with him, the three eyes crow, the children of the forest, and the fricking trees though. It's like an acid trip gone bad.

All of that is pretty tame when you compare it to other high fantasy series with dwarves, elves, orcs, magic rings, talking swords, walking trees etc. etc.

If you read fast and have a good bit of free time, you should be caught up by the start of next season.

Team Arya (non-smash ). I'm hoping at some point down the road she hooks back up with Gendry and he's wielding a badass war hammer.

Dude, the three eyed crow lives in a cave being slowly devoured by a tree. He fed Bran some sort of bloody mixture paste stuff. That's pretty fricked up.

GRRM had a pretty fantastic series on his hand up until he (presumably) told his editor to kick rocks.

He'll be lucky to save it, in my opinion. I'm not sure he can bury his impulse to keep expanding... are we going to get in-depth views of Lannisport? More Oldtown? More Eyrie? ...Asshai (I actually think he said no to this)?!

He needs to streamline, and quickly. He has a GIFT for drawing characters; he can conjure up a more memorable character in 10 pages than most writers can in a novel, but he needs to recognize that the plot is dense enough. Let's propel it forward (and in a manageable way).

Apparently Sansa was 11 in GoT and is noted as 13 when she marries Tyrion in SoS. So I'm guessing about 3 years maybe?

Holy crap I didn't realize she was that young, I was mentally associating Arya closer to those ages.

But now that you made me think about it, didn't she start out at 9 in Game of Thrones?

I'd like to see more of Oldtown personally.

8 or 9 I think. It makes sense though if GRRM is loosely basing his story on the European middle-ages where life expectancy was something like 25-30.
