Lol. TJ Moe and Gabe DeArmond get their rocks off by shitting on Mizzou fans. Nothing new to see here.

1 listener or 10 million

Explain to me how this is wrong?

Refuse to show up for games, yet demand to be on the same level of fans that do.

Low donations.

Woe is me. Almost a comfort in losses or failures. Weird dynamic here. Can’t wait for that gotcha moment.

This fanbase will always be this programs biggest hurdle.

Again, you may not like it but he’s not wrong

Are you going to make a case as to why the take is wrong or just continue deflecting?

Mizzou has grown its own fan base. The university bears some responsibility for how its fan base reacts. The fan base attitude didn’t spring up ex nihilo.

I'm 54, a contributor, I live in Omaha so only make 3-4 games. I have never met this so called nihilistic Mizzou fan in person.

Our crowd will never be SEC worthy, but it would fit in or even exceed averages anywhere else. The football program would be much more dominant in any other conference imho. When someone states our fanbase sucks, I disagree because I'm a part of that fanbase, and it doesn't describe me, my family, my Mizzou neighbor across the street or any fan or booster I've ever known.

Saying the fan base sucks, really just means that there aren’t enough of the diehards that go to games and support the team no matter what.

That’s not to say, of course, that the program doesn’t have great supporters. Of course we do. I know a lot of them.

The problem is there are not NEARLY enough of them.

We’ve got a 60k seat stadium that we can’t even come close to filling.

It is what it is, but the problem arises when the fans (and it’s usually the ones that don’t donate or go to games) start demanding success WELL ABOVE what the support of the program would suggest.

Exactly. It wasn't the fans fault that the admin decided to put a 20-year ban on the football program by rejecting Prop 48 or failed to capture the St. Louis market after the Rams left. 8 years in the SEC and they still don't have a clue on how to market the two biggest money making sports in the country.

I'm not going to argue a flawed premise with an idiot. I'm just going to point out you keep calling the fans piece's of shite. Since you are one (of sorts) you may have a point.

I haven’t lived in Missouri for over a decade. But, I’ve watched Mizzou football from Virginia to Colorado after I’ve left the state. Everywhere I’ve gone I’ve seen fans wearing gear and watching games and cheering on the team.

Mizzou has a loyal fan base. But doesn’t have the local support of some of the bigger programs that draw huge crowds. I think some of that comes from the university not utilizing its resources to promote the product, and the competition for dollars. Put a consistent product on the field and the stands will fill. We aren’t Alabama-LSU, A&M, etc. win, and win again, and probably again. In reality, Odom needs to superexceed to get the stands full on a reliably consistent basis. If that happens they will fill. The 2015 protesters fricked a lot of the momentum. And so did the on-field production the next coupe years. If Odom continues to improve and so does the product, then it all grows together, and hopefully into something lasting.

In reality, I don’t know if it ever means expanding the stadium. Attendance continues downward across football. Maybe it means a better experience for those that do attend.

To touch on TJ, he has a point if you read many MU boards. Lots of sour people. But, the fan base is much more than the assholes writing on the inter webs

I agree. It seems the vast majority of fanbases are the same in this regard. It is only the programs who have had significant success that seem to be able to be less pessimistic.

You could say this about Oklahoma State, South Carolina, or even Iowa. Hell I'll even throw in Arizona State for a Pack 12 equivalent. Click bait it is, unique it is not.
