I have to say the rock M really looks good now maybe it's because they decided to install the same type of new grass across the rock m and not have six different grasses growing on the hill

The M Looks really good bc they carved out the shape of the M and poured concrete so the rocks would sit in there and stay perfect.
Grass does look really good too.
I'm greedy, wish they didn't slope it back so much, wish it was more vertical and came down closer to the track.

Wasn't the goal to set the hill up to eventually have everything set up for seating when the time comes?
If/when there's seats there, it looks like they'll be closer to the field than any of the rest of the seats.

The hill looks great! I wish we would get rid of the damn track and add some seating closer to the field.

Wow..very nice, already quite a change from when we were there in Sept. last year. That end of the stadium has much more of a "finished" look now...
The improvements are coming along. Had a blast in CoMo last year & looking forward to seeing the improvements in person again next year...

They took those seats out in the mid 90s for a reason. They won't be re-added.

Sometime down the line I'd really like to see them either put the stands on jacks and raise the stadium to get some seats closer to the field or spend a ton of money to dynamite the shite out of the bedrock to lower the field.

They would have to spend a ton of money to do this, too. Anyways, I'm not even sure that this is possible

Penn State did it in one of their big expansions. I'm sure it cost plenty.

Ah, you're right. My bad, I had never known they did that.

Fair enough, I just don't like the track around the stadium, seems so bush league.

Found this nice little nugget embedded at the bottom of an article about Hearnes in the KC Star. Nice to finally get some clarity on what the new capacity will be after the expansion phases.
LINK
• Alden also said Tuesday that the capacity of Memorial Stadium will grow from around 67,000 this season to between 72,000 and 74,000 in 2014. Alden said the cranes being used to build the new east-side structure will remain up throughout the course of the season.
“That’s great advertising,” Alden said. “When people see cranes, they see growth.”
Alden said the planned south-side structure, which is likely years away from being built, will push the stadium’s capacity to more than 83,000.
