Not just the loss, it’s the continued dipshit play we trot out game after game. We actually have a pretty talented team and if we played clean ball we very well could be 5-0 right now. Instead we’ll drop to 3-3 (0-3) next week and firmly on the way to firing our coach.

No matter how you feel about Barry, it’s not a good thing. We are looking at a lengthy rebuild and that’s only if our hire pans out. Best case scenario. Recruiting class will fall apart, and all of the goodwill that had been built in state will disappear.

Another thing to consider is that the AD is not exactly flushed with cash, nor is this a great job. If Bo is fired, the next hire will be a gamble also.

Hello darkness my old friend. Could be entering a VERY bad period of Mizzou Football here

It’s normal.
He’ll be telling us how dumb we are and how we’re not real fans by Monday.

Is it a requirement for you to be such a prick all the time or do you just enjoy it?

I’m mildly observant of your standard behavior. If you weren’t always a prick, I’d be far more lenient at a time like this.

ok...whatever makes you feel good.

And reedus, it’s not overreacting per se but all these people giddy about firing the coach aren’t really looking very closely at the situation

This has the potential to be VERY bad

You guys realize that Odom succeeding is the best thing for Mizzou right?

It’s almost like you don’t...

Odom succeeding is by far the best thing. You don’t understand that we understand that.

It would by far be the best thing. But he won't. It's been 3 years, he is what he is.

He's a losing hand. You concede the game and draw a new hand. Staring at a pair of 2s and thinking good thoughts won't transform it into a full house.

Some don’t act like it

Just take a realistic look at who we could hire. It is what it is, but we’d have to get lucky. It’s really no different than we we hired Odom.

It’s a gamble.

The problem is, it's highly doubtful that he will. You should be starting to see that by now. It's not that we don't want him to succeed. That's been your problem with us (Odom doubters) all along, we see what's happening and you refuse to.

I’ve been around Mizzou fans for a long time...there is always a portion that constantly wants to fire the coach.

Yeah, sometimes they are right. Often times they are not. It’s not a good thing though there are several fans that believe it is.

We’ll see. If we don’t see a distinct turnaround then I’m on board with it, but there are no guarantees. It’s just difficult to win here, especially now in the SEC.

Im with you. Like I have posted previously, my buddies who know this league says they recognize how our personnel poses problems to our opponents. This shite is crazy.

How in the hell are we losing these games????

Dude every fanbase has those portions, it's nothing new. This hire was underwhelming from the start, so naturally there would be some pessimism and questioning. We realize the circumstances at the time, but still, he should of been allowed to take his lumps elsewhere, and been able to prove himself before stepping into a HC job in the SEC.

Is this officially the end of the heysus gives BO unlimited bj's era or are you just giving your tired face a rest?

You’re right, it’s not specific to Mizzou fans but believe me when I tell you the calls were loud for Pinkel’s head at this point in his tenure also.

Football takes time to build and especially at a school where you don’t have much access to ready made recruits.

My confidence is certainly becoming limited because of the way we are losing. This team should be better than it is, but we aren’t getting a proven coach even if we fire BO.

That’s the major problem I have with it. We’ll be starting over, but if it has to be done then it has to be done.

Despite the low recruiting class ratings... we looked like the more talented team today. We put up more yards. Rushing game was solid. We had lots of trips to the redzone. But... the team could not consistently capitalize on the superior position. Poor preparation (especially after a bye week) and again poor discipline (lots of penalties that had huge costs).

A coaching change can always be difficult but "hope is not a strategy". I "hope" BO can turn it around isn't going to change the reality that can be clearly seen on the field. BO teams can never compete against anything but sub-par competition and even then it's not consistent.

We finally dropped KA and that change has been a big improvement. Football will be tougher but the longer we keep digging a big hole, the higher the climb back out will be.

I understand.

This is where I hesitate though. The number one thing we have to have at HC is a guy who is able to identify and develop talent. They have to have that trait. I know a lot of you think it’s defeatist, but it’s reality that we are not going to recruit to the level of most SEC schools.

It’s a rare trait and I’m pretty sure Odom has it. It’s not easy to find a guy that can do that, and if we have to fire one because he can’t get his team to play with composure it’s going to be a damn shame.

It’s the little things that are killing us and you would think those things could be improved but maybe not.

I 100% agree that when the time comes you simply have to do it, but Inwas hopeful that he could clean these things up. I’m becoming less hopeful.
