I don't care if we are 5-5 and Tennessee is down, that crowd was sad. We should be doing an infinitely better job supporting this team, what the hell, Mizzou?

And to our students: you. fricking. suck.

They left during the game, right?

It was over in the middle of the 3rd quarter.

It happens every time there is a home game the second weekend of November when the team isn't ranked.

BO needs support. I hope he'll get it. If we finish this year off strongly, I really hope the fans will buy in.

I know a lot of people here dismiss this, but it's very difficult to recruit when you have a ton of negativity surrounding the program and people aren't coming to games.

Mizzou fans are always pretty bandwagon. You cure that by winning. I just really hope that next year we have some excitement around the program and can get the fan support that BO needs. He's earning it.

He keeps winning and fans will show up and support.

It was a better showing by the kids today, but they bailed pretty early in the second half. I guess they needed to charge their phones or something.

I was there, and very disappointed in the crowd. I think they said 55,000, but I didn’t hear it very well. But yes, the crowd bailed in the 3rd quarter. And if the stadium holds 71,000, then there wasn’t 55,000 there to begin with. For senior night it didn’t look good.
I was able to get tickets in Nashville next week for $48 bucks on the 50 yd line 18 rows up behind the Missouri bench. They have tickets for sale as little as $6 for next week.
I’m flying in Saturday morning but not looking forward to downtown Nashville traffic. It’s awful down there.

Water is wet.

We've always had a crap fanbase. One of the major things holding Mizzou back from major success in my opinion. Only FBS school in a state of over 6 million with 2 major metros to draw talent from and we can't even recruit those.

We're fickle, we have a victim mentality, and when things go bad, we simply switch over to the Cardinals, Chiefs, Royals, Blues, etc.

As much as I don't like them, look no further than USCjr for an example of a good fanbase. They are a historically pathetic program, yet have always had consistently solid crowds and a stadium that seats over 80,000.

Crowd sure looked strong for hoops the night before. When Odom convinces the fans football has turned the corner, the stands will be full.

Barry Odom's his own worst enemy.

He starts out by limiting media access to players and coaches, then when shite hits the fan early he stops talking to the locals altogether and acts like he's getting a prostate exam in the availabilities he couldn't cancel by rule or contract.

If you want to build excitement for your product you have to have great product placement. That means giving the media what they need to insure you get your 30-60 seconds at 5, 6 and 10. It means making the weekly in-state radio rounds, etc.

Gary Pinkel got this. The Blues, Cardinals and even Cuonzo Martin get it. Odom has yet to and it's hurting his ability to recruit locally and generate excitement and interest.

So he's shown he can beat crap teams. I, and a good percentage of the fan base, are still not sold on BO. He will probably get a 3rd year, but if the team craters in the first half like the previous 2, then it will have been a mistake.

Unless the team folds these last two games, BO will be back.

Yes he's shown he can beat sub par below 500 teams late in the season 2 years in a row.... well most of them anyway.

He's also had 2 years of clueless play and bad losses the first half of the season.

No the masses still aren't sold on BO. There is no reason they should be at this point.

Still think last nights game was the best all around game the team/BO have had since his hire.

Here's hoping next year BO will actually have his team ready to play game 1.

That would actually show growth

If Odom goes 7-6 or 8-5 how do you fire him?

I thought after the 1-5 start this team would be lucky to go 3-9

To be honest, we return a lot next year and the schedule is considerably more difficult.

By going 8-5 Barry has set up expectations next year of at least 9 wins.

Can he live up to that?

His success here might be his ultimate downfall if he can't come out firing next year.

That won’t be the expectation, especially if both Lock and TBJ leave for the NFL.

I guess I don't get why you have to be "sold" on the coach to support the program.

If you want to win, and you want to recruit well then you need to support the program. Go to games, don't shower the program in negativity on message boards and social media. DONATE.

I guess being able to say"I told you so" is more important than wins for a lot of people.

You don't.

You hope that year three he can actually have his team ready to play the first half of the season.

Maybe throw in a victory over a team with a winning record would be nice too.

Continued growth is what we need to see. In both the players and BO.

If you want a program to change, the only recourse a fan has is to stay away. Ticket sales talk. Anything else is fantasy. If the program is worthy of support, it will be supported.

Look at basketball: The fans wanted change. They stayed away. Change was made. The season sold out.

Quit blowing sunshine up my pants and show me.

The mindset of "blindly follow blindly support" may work in pumpville.

However in reality it goes back to what you said.

Thanks to GP winning is now expected with our football program. Losing and mediocre play is not..... BO has them beating the teams they should . Nice turn around from the first half of the season.

Let's see what BO does these last games. Let's see if he has his guys ready to play first game next season.
