Do you think all soldiers should be thanked the same? Even ones that hang out on message boards while on the clock. Raking in a large salary while getting housing/food allowance and living in Hawaii. Does that make me crazy to think they don't deserve the same treatment as someone who's paid far less and actually puts his/her life on the line all the time.

Do you think things like million dollar spending sprees on office furniture just because the unit is under budget makes sense?

I've been rude, I know that. Just waiting for someone to tell me I'm wrong. The only thing crazy about all this is the fact I've kept saying this stuff again and again. But like I said, still waiting for someone to explain why I'm wrong.

Fricking drop it man or make your own damn thread about the military and if anyone wants to respond they will. The military has fricking nothing to do with whether the Pinkel era should come to an end.

I know what you're saying. We need to be somewhat like South Carolina before you're wanting to be like Bama.

Most Mizzou fans are incredibly frustrated with this season and think that Pinkel's inability to change will make progress difficult but he gets more time. And one of our Mizzou posters works for the military in Hawaii and another Mizzou poster is a Dbag.

Some people want GP fired some don't. Some would rather assistants go. Gray back is bipolar and thinks some in the military make too much money, some people think he is un-American and should take his meds.

Thanks for the recap.

I'm torn on the subject of GP. There are two big issues:
1) Alden will never fire GP right or wrong. GP would have to leave on his own.
2) If GP did leave, we could just as easily make a terrible hire. I guess I'd have to think about how good I feel about Alden making another hire before I could make up my mind.

I do think Alden would hire a solid coach and not take any huge risks, but maybe MU needs a huge risk to thrive in the SEC? I just don't know.

I one time crushed my thumb with a hammer and ended up having a concussion.

There may be a new element to add into this also. It's all this fiscal cliff talk and budget slashing that may happen soon. The local news reported that if secondary education is cut the way they want it cut, Mizzou stands to lose millions per year. I may be mistaken, but it was in the 20 mill range. They would have to find new sources of revenue. One source could be in the way of sports ticket sales, and we all know how that works. It's a performance based industry. The higher ticket prices escalate, the more emphasis there is on team performance.

This is something thats not totaly present right now but could become a determing factor in the very near future. This would put pressure on athletic directors to put the best performance based coach in place. In other words, friendships won't mean squat.

No. When you watch the team leader laughing and shooting the breeze onthe sidelines while your backup is trying to keep the team in the game,

Anyone who is taking shots at franklin needs to stop posting and turn in their Mizzou apparel ASAP. You are aware that the laughing and smiling you saw came immediately after we took the lead, right?

Really disgusted with the attitude some people have towards an injured kid who clearly plays his arse off for the team

Thank you. He's doing he best he can in a year plagued with injuries, and people taking shots at him need to go put the pads on and get hit over and over. Then get a concussion and try to play. They took him out of the game for a reason. I don't like seeing or hearing our players get bashed. Save that for the coaches - who are more than deserving.

I would absolutely love to see us make a change and bring in Kirby Smart as head coach. He's ready, turned down 3 HC jobs last year. And he's a guy with strong character and values. Has kids, and Columbia is a great place to raise a family. And, he's a winner. We would be a great fit for him, and this would be the year to get him - he may not be available next year.

That said, Alden won't pull the trigger. We're likely stuck with what we have - head coach and coordinators too.

I don't question he works hard and does his best. As a fan, I want wins. Don't care who the QB is. I didn't see the laughing or smiling, but I have seen an anemic offense all year long. Not all his fault but he does have to carry the part of the load that is his.

I had my worst concussion my last college game, it was the first time it was so bad that I couldn't hide it from the trainers. If I could have, I would have (I wouldn't want my kid doing that, if I had one, but it's what I did).

I know that I could have never possibly laughed about anything while that game was going on, all I wanted to do was be in the game. I was mad as hell about being out, but focused on watching for my team. I guess that combined with JF's suspect competitiveness this year makes me feel like something is wrong when a guy is emotionally okay with laughing when he's been taken out of an important game.

And you might as well wish for Gruden if you're hoping for Smart. That man is destined to be the head coach of a major college program, such as his alma mater Georgia.

I don't disagree with what your saying.

But since all these concussion stories have been sent to the front of everything else, and alot of legal things surrounding players suffering concussion, has anyone thought that maybe the reason Franklin was kept out of the game was because of liability concerns?

I think alot of these sport team directors are so scared of being sued, if a player compains of head trauma, they are given a test and even if they pass said test, they will error on the side of caution.

Yeah, I think at this point I've regressed to being fine he was pulled. I understand why he was and would be glad he was if he was my son.. I've refocused my attention on questioning a guy who is emotionally okay with laughing on the sideline after being taken out. If it was only right after our go ahead field goal, I'm okay with that.
