This is the type of game I'm expecting The Barry Bunch to lose.

If we do, I see 4 wins as the max. A win and maybe we get on a roll and get 5 or 6. A loss and 3-8 seems more likely. Oh, and Odom has yet to win a road game of any kind - P5 or otherwise.

Does 3-9 get Odom the gate losing to non-P5's both years and possibly without a single road win?

4 or fewer wins and Odom is gone. Maybe he’s back with 5 wins. 6 and a bowl game is the number he needs to get to.

If he wins UConn and proceeds to lose out he needs to be gone. If he does not get to 6 wins and a bowl he needs to go. This is the easiest schedule we have had since before we joined the SEC.

UCONN can score and they appear to have a solid O. By their standards.

If Body Odor gives up 4-500 yards of offense again he should be fired regardless of result.

Hell. If he gives up 500 yards or close to it to ANY of our remaining teams, he should be fired. We aren't facing really good offenses the rest of the way. UT's is a dumpster fire for example.

The defense is bad, there just isn't any getting around that.

I don't think UCONN is a make or break game. Maybe break, but not make.

He needs to get to a bowl, which means we can only lose once more...if that is UCONN you have a real hard time envisioning running the table.

uconn is terrible

If they don't win 6 games, he should be fired, as soon as j'mon has dropped and fumbled his last pass.

Barry will get to 5-7, which is an improvement and he'll get year 3, I've already accepted this.

If he cant go 3-2 with this schedule he should get fired.

Next year he needs to win 8 games, and honestly should because the East looks awful right now.

This team will beat UCONN then go winless in the SEC. 3-9 and he must be fired after that. Our remaining SEC games are winnable games but the defense is so bad it won't matter.

If he does get a yr 3. A serious DC hire needs to be made, and Sterk needs to be involved. Someone with experience and success.

Also probably need a new secondary coach.

Okay, let's pretend that YOU are someone with "experience and success". Are you going to join this dumpster fire and hook your resume to Odom? HA!

If he gets to year 3, will it be a dumpster fire? Probably not, Mizzou would have gone 5-1 over the last 6 and gotten to a bowl game.

I also would bet that Odom wouldn’t have to hire a proven DC. He would need a LB coach and need Walters or Brick to take on many of the non play calling DC duties.

Is Walters a competent coach?

Odom seems to think so. Secondary has the biggest talent issue on the team. Other than Gaines, Pig Brown and Moore Mizzou hasn’t had a great secondary player the last 20 years.

I would really like to know why Ross doesn’t get more defensive snaps.

The secondary looks completely unprepared for any concept run against them and the only safety that doesn't struggle with run fits is Sherrils. Walters is easily the weakest coach on the staff.

How much are you paying? Where am I working now?

We can hire a quality DC, and we must.

Besides, if we make a bowl game our arrow will be pointing up in perception anyway.

National media doesn't pay that close of attention. If we finish 6-6 and make a bowl we will have went 5-1 down the stretch and BO will be getting some praise.

Gotta disagree with you on this. Hiring experienced help will be tough for Odom, especially a DC after the Cross mess. Anyone you would truly want who could make an impact is not working for BO.

His last DC was stripped of his duties after a few weeks and then fired a few weeks into the next season. And the HC who fired him has had no success as DC either. I don't think pulling in a good name is possible. It will probably be another rehab project like Heupal.

Also there is no room for error. A 3rd year would be a gift, but the seat would be warm. A DC needs to come in with an much improved defense on day 1. That's tough.

Agreed. Body Odor isn't getting any quality, proven DC. He's been on the hot seat for two years basically. He's a sinking ship till he proves otherwise. No DC will wanna come here under the threat of BO getting fired or him firing them because of his own incompetence.

Again if BO is back, that more than likely means Mizzou is a bowl team.

He also doesn’t need a DC, for play calling. He would need a good LB coach that can recruit. Then he would need to delegate non playcalling DC duties to the various defensive assistants.

Yep, because the defense is doing so well, lets give the coaches more responsibility.

Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Is that really the level of Mizzou football?
