Missouri is well known as a zone read team.
It will be interesting to see what 'bama does to counter that.
If their fans can be believed 'bama can't stop the run so the Tiger's
1-2 punch of backs may have a field day.
Fun times talking about this for 2 weeks! M I Z !!

And if they stack the box to counter, can we take advantage?

Wouldn’t mind seeing a little more out of the passing game

Yeahhhhhh. Hardy, and Roberts, have put up so many yards after contact so far this season. Easy to believe those numbers will start dropping a bit as we start hitting better SEC defenses. If Bama cuts YAC in half or more, can MU's offense adjust and attack effectively somewhere else?

It would be hard to sellout to stop the run because we still have 2 WRs and a TE on every set. We seem to like the dunk passes that keep the chains moving. If the safeties come up for run support, Johnson or Coleman can easily make them pay.

The tape from the UMass game can't be helping 'bama.
Nothing deep yet several receivers including the tight end all made plays.
Beau ran, he threw with accuracy. The running game wasn't tricky but very productive.
It may come down to our DB's.

That wasn't a vanilla game plan. That was straight tap water. Drink did this before the 23 KState game.

I agree, however, Beau needs reps throwing downfield. I congratulate him on beating Chase's consecutive passes record but those were short to intermediate throws from what I recall and I just want to see attempts to stretch the defense with our speed guys.

was BP's last downfield pass the 1st TD pass vs ku?

That's what I'm thinking.
Hopefully they're working on their deep balls because there are dozens of reasons for opposing defenses to pack things in.

The key to the Bama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma games:
- Stay on schedule
- Grind and finish drives (TDs > FGs)
- Time of Possession
Also eliminate these from the playbook:
- Bubble screens that start backwards
- QB designed runs without an RPO, jet sweep fake, etc

Deep throws into the looks UMass was showing would have been forced. He set the record by taking what was there. There are deep components to all of the concepts Moore uses and Beau took at least two sacks and arguably a 3rd climbing in the pocket waiting on them to come open when an underneath route or throwing it away was the better decision. I hope they take the two weeks and get him to stay on platform at his drop and either find the 3rd read or throw it away if he cant take off.
He's a first year starter so there are some warts but he's very close to being as complete of a starting QB as you could want.
