He’ll never learn or change. He blew a 17 point lead in the most embarrassing fashion.

We will never win big with this chump as our ball coach.

Fire him after NSD.

That was absolutely crazy the way he let them come back. Florida had a horseshoe up the butt today. Give McClendon a chance. First year as OC ever. He will get it together

I say give him more time. After this season, he will more than likely have a better record than Spurrier did after 3 years. Lot of young guys out there today, but doesn’t matter, should have won that game. Florida got all the bounces in the second half. 3rd down and the snap goes over the qb’s head and they still get a first down. Just that type of day.

If the team goes 3-1 to end the season, that’s got to be one of the better seasons in school history.

this was the offensive sequence after the "non-fumble" that allowed UF to cut score to 31-21

1st & 10 at SC 25 (0:45 - 3rd) A.J. Turner run for 6 yds to the SCaro 31

2nd & 4 at SC 31 (0:27 - 3rd) Jake Bentley pass incomplete to Deebo Samuel

3rd & 4 at SC 31 (0:18 - 3rd) Jake Bentley pass complete to K.C. Crosby for 7 yds to the SCaro 38 for a 1ST down

1st & 10 at SC 38 (0:00 - 3rd) A.J. Turner run for 3 yds to the SCaro 41

End of 3rd Quarter

2nd & 7 at SC 41 (14:55 - 4th) A.J. Turner run for 2 yds to the SCaro 43

3rd & 5 at SC 43 (14:19 - 4th) A.J. Turner run for a loss of 1 yard to the SCaro 42

4th & 6 at SC 42 (13:43 - 4th) Joseph Charlton punt for 47 yds, downed at the Fla 11

----------------

3rd & 5 almost at midfield...and we run it a 3rd consecutive time

meanwhile, UF never covered the slant or either of our TEs all game

eta - I'm convinced WM was in BMac's headset screaming at him to run in on 3rd fwiw

I really think the non-fumble on the strip sack scared Muschamp. Offense wasn’t the same after that.

Think we just gotta look at ourselves in the mirror.

We got spoiled by our 11 win seasons.

Everyone chill out

Forget the offense, the issue is defense.

We gave up 367 yards rushing to a team with a qb who couldn't throw more than 5 yards down the field. This wasn't the '96 Cornhuskers mind you.

I'm so sick of seeing our guys trying to strip the ball at the expense of making the tackle and getting carried 5 to 10 yards. Why do we keep doing this? When's the last time we got a fumble on a strip? I can't remember one. I'm tired of defenders waiting on the ball carrier come to them instead of attacking them. Add that to the fact our tacklers don't keep running through the tackle frustrates me to no end. You stop moving your feet, you get run over. At some point do we figure this out?

Yeah that was some horseshite. Around the goal line they'll let a play drag on for 5 seconds for second and third efforts, but that play they instantly rule him down. Definitely changed the game's momentum.

I wish we could - but with all the valid points you make about Muschamp's defense - along with how he doesn't GAF what happens between the 20s (which I can't stand that approach) - the offense is the only thing that can win Carolina games as this point. I can live with the dropped passes on the last drive, but it was clear up 10 points the play calling went way conservative and away from what gave USC a 17 point lead.

...and his lip service post-game to Todd and any other interview is complete bullshite about "we did the same things offensively in the 2H as we did the 1H"...

Yeah I didn’t understand that either. That is absolutely not what got us there. I thought Roper trotted our there in the 2nd half.

I don’t get it - the playcalling was working for 3 quarters. Going conservative was ridiculous. If your defense is getting gashed all game, you don’t take your foot off the gas on offense. It’s literally the only way you can win.

I had hoped Muschamp learned his lesson and stopped being stubborn after getting fired from UF, but it appears that’s not the case. Maybe it was the pressure of being back in The Swamp, but this loss is on him. Even with the crazy stuff that happened late in the game, it shouldn’t matter when you’re up two scores. He should be able to close it out.

This was a huge game in terms of pulling out a decent season and Muschamp solidifying himself as a reliable coach going forward, and we let it all slip away. This is going to be a 7-5 season at best with a MASSIVE beating from Clemson forthcoming.

Muschamp might land us some decent recruits to be excited about, but I don’t have much faith in the coaching going forward. He makes too much money to require more time to find his footing as a coach. He’s done nothing to have us prepared for big games, and I don’t see how that’s magically going to change going forward after 3 seasons.

The only thing keeping Carolina competitive this season is the offense. Muschamp has been here for three years, and I still don't see a difference maker on D. There are no linebackers, and the depth is pitiful. They got manhandled by UF, and there's no excuse for that.

His inability to recruit on defense may neuter his tenure completely. McClendon is looking like a solid hire, but that defense is dogshit.

Idiotic. You have to give any coach a reasonable amount of time. We lack quality players and depth to be competitive for 4 quarters. This can only be fixed with recruiting. Even when we bring in quality recruits, it is rare for them to make an immediate impact. Firing a coach this early, would only set us back even further.

I hate that I agree with you. Muschamp isn't The Guy, and we'll likely never see better than 8-4 perennially under him. But there is no depth on this team. It's talent-starved past the starting 11. He needs to keep recruiting and getting decent depth.

Still, he's a wretched game day coach who finds creative ways to lose winnable games. His last two games against aTm and this year's Florida game are utterly inexcusable. But he's who we'll have for several more years. May as well get comfy.

Our tackling is atrocious and we aren't generating turnovers. It's like the Tyrone Nix era all over again and we were stuck in mediocrity until we got rid of our last Tyrone Nix.

Muschamp has got to stop the conservative nonsense on offense. If you have someone down, bury them. If we are up 31-14 with 3 minutes left in the game, yeah just run it out. Until then, beat the hell out of them.

I'm onboard with giving him one more season. We need a new DC no matter what after this season. If we don't finish in the top 25 after next season or have a top 25 quality season (9 or more wins after the bowl game) then yeah we need someone new.

If it makes ya'll feel any better, Louisville fired Petrino this morning and named Lorenzo Ward the interim HC.

It COULD be worse.

Become an Arkansas fan for the last two games. I assure you, it COULD be MUCH worse.
