Finebaum had Tennessee beat writer John Adams on his show today and he was just as clueless as everyone else seems to be. It's his belief that Steele was brought in to step in as an interim coach should Tennessee end up firing Pruitt for cause. He has no idea who's driving the bus right now but he's pretty sure it's not Fulmer. The way he was talking it sounds like Fulmer might be in danger of losing his job because he's the one who hired Pruitt.

It's crazy how so little is known about the situation right now.

I’d be terrified if I were a UT fan, but I imagine most are just numb to it all by now.

Yeah...I read his article today. Idk, but Adams has been on Pruitts butt. Honestly I dont think Steele is the replacement. Pruitt couached with him, hes a UT grad and I think it was a good ole boy friendship hire and Adams is just stirring he pot a little.

It’s honestly been that way for me for about the last 6-7 years.

Bob Dylan said it a long time ago.
"When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose."

The Tenn football program is the poster child for dysfunction. My guess is the well-heeled boosters are jockeying for positions at the decision-making table.

Would this be like a double curse? Do they cancel each other out?

Would Fulmer have a buyout if fired?

It's not just that he hired Pruitt. I don't blame him for hiring Pruitt. The problem with Fulmer is that it was also his job to mentor him as a first-time head coach, and Fulmer has done an absolutely horrendous job at that. Pruitt has made enemies all over that campus, on the academic side and in the athletic department, and there's no excuse for it. He's horrible at PR. He completely botched the QB situation for the last two years. All of those are areas where Fulmer should have given him guidance, especially the first two. Fulmer has utterly failed when it comes to giving positive and supportive supervision and leadership to Pruitt.
