Who should start at QB?

I'm not a fan of Plumlee under center. He needs to be on the field but a QB that can't throw the ball is a disqualifier for me, no matter how well he can run.

All of the plays they ran last year were option. He would probably be a better passer if he had set passing plays called and only ran when it was necessary.
It will probably come down to who understands the playbook the best. All the QBs have their pros and cons.
Tisdale intrigues me. Seems like he has some fire coming into the season.

Well of course the coaches will know whether Plumlee can throw, but I believe we still see him as the starter and prove in a game if he can throw.

Anybody that knows football should see that Corral has the makings of a very serviceable QB. Think Bo Wallace. Plumlee, although great at moving, is so bad at passing the ball, I don't think that aspect of his game can be fixed. He simply doesn't have the skill level. Passing is kind of key for a starting SEC QB.
That being said, I would LOVE to be proven wrong about him.

Man to be fair to JRP consider his coaches last year and the fact that he was a true freshman. He has put in a ton of work this off season and the biggest gains are usually between year 1 and 2. I have a feeling Kiffin can turn JRP into a winning QB if anyone is going to.

Why not just line the dude up at RB? That's what he's good at.
Never in my life have I seen a QB that couldn't throw become one that could throw.

I think Kiffin can turn any of our QB's into winning QB's. Have to admit that I'm intrigued to see what Tisdale can do with a full game rather than just 1 try at junk time.

I agree, doesn’t everyone remember Blake Simms?

Because we have 15 of those

Blake Simms
The reason JRP is a good runner is because he’s a QB who can run. If he’s a pure RB and there’s no threat of pass, his running ability will be diminished greatly

His (and corrall’s) development was stunted under the old coach. I will wait and give time to pass judgement on any QB until I see some film under the new staff.

Matty Ice hype train. Hop on boys

Kiffin is going to favor the passer over the running QB in general. He and Lebby's scheme is pass-heavy, and if JRP can't complete basic throws he won't win the job.
That doesn't mean Matty boy is a lock, but I would give him the edge as of right now.

quote:Because he couldn't throw the ball. He's one of the worst passing QBs i've ever seen start an D1 game. In 8 starts he never threw for more than 141 yards and his yards per ATTEMPT was only 6.1 for the season with a measley 52% completion percentage. He also only had 4 touchdowns in 9 games. He was awful.
All of the plays they ran last year were option.

This is true. Even his 10 yard passes had loft

Does that mean Corall is a worse thrower?
They ran option all the time because that's what Rodriguez does

Corral, if we're serious about competing now and in the future. Let him take his licks, and see what he's got. No one can grow having to constantly look over their shoulder.
