Former Oklahoma redshirt junior TE Grant Calcaterra announced he will no longer be playing at Auburn.
A few months ago, Calcaterra (6'4/227) decided to un-retire and transfer away from Oklahoma. His initial destination was Auburn. At the time, however, Gus Malzahn was the Tigers' HC, which is no longer the case as Bryin Harsin has now taken over.
Calcaterra has taken the coaching change as an opportunity to look to play elsewhere, effectively re-opening his transfer possibilities.
During his time at Oklahoma, Calcaterra handled 41 receptions for 637 yards and nine touchdowns, looking like one of the country's best "move" tight ends.

I’d like to thank Coach Malzahn, Coach Porter, Coach Bryant, and Coach Morris for the opportunity they gave me at Auburn. I respect the football program and the Auburn Family. However at this time, I have to decided to play elsewhere. Best of luck to Coach Harsin and the team.

This is kind of old news. Regardless, good luck to him wherever he goes.

Auburn losing two DL and RB transferring and top two WR going pro
It's gonna be a long year next season

A guy leaving who has never stepped on the field for Auburn is a HUGE loss.

Harsin is a solid coach. And will scheme around their issues but man both lines of scrimmage can make it a long year for them.

Losing Anthony Schwartz and Seth Williams, along with Eli Stove, is tough.
Losing BK Bryant, Daquan Newkirk, MAR and DJ Williams doesn’t really hurt. They made little to no impact last year. BK Bryant obviously the best of the bunch, and still a disappointment.

It is going to be a long year. This is a huge reason why Gus is no longer at Auburn. He couldn't find OL if they fell in his lap. It will take Harsin several years just to get a competent OL.

Wanya Morris, maybe? Would be huge for OT.

I'm aghast at the thought of only having six tight ends.

And no offense, but you have to be dumb as dirt to be a Tight End and sign with Gus Malzahn. Then again, you get a free scholarship and don't have to worry about playing.

Bringing him in reeked of desperation by Gus to find playmakers (kind of like that 5 star committed to UT). He couldn't get medically cleared by his former team, and who knows who else, and was out west fighting fires when Gus called him. Heck of a talent, but huge injury risk.
