If we pull it off versus Bama.

I’d say this year.

Those other teams could stop the run pretty good especially 1972 and 2017.

Why not?

Maybe Bo, Seth, Flash, and others have a huge game.

Does Britt play?
Tank?

I’ll watch.

I’d say 2013. At the time, Bama was the two time defending national champion, rolling toward a three peat. They were eviscerating everyone and had possibly the best college coach ever. Auburn, on the other hand, was coming off of a 3-9 season and a coaching change, with an upstart coach.

2013 felt the biggest. At no point in that game did I feel like we were going to win. And honestly, they had the ball in our territory for most of the second half, always one or two plays away from putting the game away.

Yeah, I get nervous when I watch the 4th quarter still.

Interesting trivia: we lost to LSU in all three of those seasons.

You left off the biggest upset in the series:

Tre Smith FTW

An upset this year would be more like 2002. In each of the other three seasons we had beaten at least one very good team prior to the IB.

Yeah this is more like 2002 I think

In 2013 and 2017 I wasn't even close to shocked, everyone assumed we had a chance going in

Very few expect us to stay in it Saturday, it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of the rivalry.

This would be a big win if it happens.

Its between 2013 and 1972. In 2017 we were the better team.

I expected to win in 13 and 17. I’m too young to know about 72, so I’ll say it’s between that and this year.

That game single handedly secured him as Auburns punt return for the rest of his career

And he was so bad at that, he had strict instructions to just catch the ball only and not return it

Don't forget about 2002. We went in to Tuscaloosa with a 5'0" 180 lb 4th-string freshman tailback and a makeshift converted TE at FB against a 10-win Bama team. If memory serves we were a 24-pt dog in that game. We whipped their arse too. Could have easily been a 17-0 final. They scored late to keep it respectable. Bobby Petrino called a masterpiece as OC that day.

Same. Once we scored to tie it up at the end, I was very confident in our chances during overtime. Their defense was spent and they were not going to stop us from getting 25 yards, whereas it felt like their offense was reliant on the big play.
