You underestimate the people of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. They will still tailgate their asses off.

These people are used to tailgating for home playoff games in January. They'll be fine.

Saying midwesterners won't show up in freezing temperatures, is akin to saying southern won't show up when it's scorching hot. It's not reality. People are used to where they live, they know how to deal with the cold just like we know how to deal with the heat.

It'll be fun to watch on TV from the south, sitting on the back porch with a heater and 50 - 60 degree temps watching those crazy bastard take off their shirts to prove how tough they are! I bet almost as many die of hypothermia as would die of the COVID....

They ain't playing in January either....thats just a spoon full of sugar to help the medicine go down...things ain't going to be appreciably different in January outside of public perception and doing so based on the publics acceptance of our reality will be an admission that cancelling the season was a mistake to begin with. The public will accept its reality as soon as we are required to do so...humans are resilient in that way...but as long as we are given a crutch we will use it cause we are also bent that way....kick the crutch out from under us and we will stumble for a minute and get on with our lives no matter what obstacles we face.

They wont have any choice....the NFL will expect them to be getting in and being in NFL shape by February...if the season starts in January it'll be March before its over meaning they will be beat to hell, especially playing in that part of the world that time of year. It aint gonna happen....

They wont have to worry about reduced capacity. Its going to look like those Packers playoff games

them crazy bastards will sit in sub zero temps for hours to catch yellow perch through the ice...big yellow perch but still yellow perch. Do not underestimate those people's willingness to endure what would kill someone south of I-40 immediately. You can't be overly smart to endure the second winter in Chicago...the first one could catch you unaware...the second one you know what is about to happen...and if you ain't overly smart you damn well better be more than tough.....

How many healthy young athletes died from covid?

None that I know of.

That said, what does that have to do with the question that I have asked?

Spring football accomplishes 2 things that aint gonna happen any other way...first is the PAC 12 gets a team in what will pass for a national title game...the second is Ohio State wins what will pass for that title game...'cause there aint no way they manage to do that if any of the top 5 in the SEC are in that game or either Oklahoma or Clemson...hell the BIG 10 and PAC 12 may well decide to play in the spring from now on to avoid the guantlet that is the SEC, Clemson and Oklahoma.....

Playing 2 seasons within 10-12 months sounds like they have the players safety in mind.

If they played all the games in domes like Indianapolis and Minnesota it can be done

What the big ten should have done is thought of more like a November/December schedule

They can do it... They would play 8 games in January and February and games if need be if weather relly inclement would be played in domed stadiums in the BIG, and in Indy and other MW domed stadiums. Why isn't this doable. The NFL draft has already said they would move the date back to accomodate CFB....that shouldn't be a problem because they'll finish (if there are no playoff games) wll before the draft anyway. The only thing i see that could not make this thing work is if we are in no better shape then than now regarding COVID, which I am highly skeptical of. Also, there has been chatter about playing a 10 game schedule.... Sounds really possible to me if the COVID declines.

You mean playing 8 football games will "beat them to hell". LOL Heck, when I was that age I was raring to go about a month or less later... C'mon, that's overdramatic nonsense. and they'll have at least 6 weeks to "rest".

Ryan Day is pushing for his incoming early 2021 recruits to be eligible to play... Isn't that a kicker..AND WHY NOT...It will be spring practice to them. Makes sense to me.

You’ve got domed stadiums in Minneapolis, Detroit, Indianapolis, and St. Louis. Milwaukee could host too

Hell if there are no fans just play in the indoor facilities lol

They’re not going to transfer. There’s still no guarantee that the other 3 conference will play either unfortunately. It’s a long way to September 26 from a healthcare perspective. From a player perspective it’s nearly impossible to learn a new system or new terminology and be as effective on the field. The elite players will just start prepping for combine.

Ohio State would’ve beat Georgia by 20+ points last year. Don’t be salty because they took your best player ever.

The players that Ohio State likes to pluck from SEC country are not used to that.

Herschel Walker played for Ohio State last year??? The bastard...it was probably only a couple of his many personalities though....
