No Aundray Bruce?
The op team is solid but leaving off many players that played before 2000. No offense but Derrick Brown and Nick Fairley couldn’t carry Tracey Rockers jock strap. He was that dominant. Go watch some of our mid 80s team and those defenses will make the late 2000’s defenses of Bama look weak

I can't remember which year it was. I think both Tracy and David were on the line. If we won the toss, Dye would choose to kick................meaning our D started on the field in both half's.
ETA I am amazed everybody keeps saying Dye as HC. He resurrected the program.......but we are what we are today because of Shug.

Shug is what AU and it’s culture is all about. He was a gentleman’s Gentleman. Dye stood up to the bully and won. He always did some things behind the scenes to give his teams an advantage (hint think “HuskerPower”). And you wussies complain about Gus meddling in the offense, with the defensive staff and team Dye put together you had the horror show of the 3 headed monster of Dye, Sullivan, and Crowe running through offense. Seems there was a clusterfrick every game. But when all else would fail just run the speed option or tailback toss at least they knew that. If you could put Barfield offense with Dyes defense and Dye stay out wow.

WR - Alexander Wright and Byron Franklin both played in heavy run offenses and were complete studs. Just musing in my head I’ll come up with an all AU team in a day or so that covers more then just the stat heavy offenses of today’s game. Impact on the game means more then stats in my opinion. Didn’t the ‘57 defense hold Tennessee to like negative 87 yards or something like that?
