Can we all just agree that we don't want to play Wisconsin?

Not starting a new thread for it, didn't know where to put it. But here's a wholesome, God Fearing Gump with an analysis of the game.

Auburn is likely headed to the Citrus or Outback bowls. That's the expectation for Auburn, but it's possible the Citrus Bowl could pick Alabama over Auburn. The Citrus Bowl gets the foice choice among teams after the New Year's Six, and can pick any bowl-eligible SEC program it wants. If Auburn falls below the Citrus, the SEC will likely slot Auburn in the Outback Bowl, which is part of the next tier of bowl games in the "pool of six" bowl games.

I want a winnable matchup we'd get the most credit for.

I see the point, but in the end a win is all the really matters. Nobody remembers who played who after 20 days of endless bowl games. The 10 wins really is a weird demarcation, but it is a real perspective change for people. Coaches could sell it on the trail...as mentioned finishing ahead of bama would also be a big deal.

I want the Cotton Bowl. It’s the best bowl they’re predicting is for and easily the most winnable. It carries a risk of us losing to a Memphis/Boise/Cincy, but this situation is very different from UCF 2017.

Losing a bowl game sucks. It sucks all off season, and Gus and AU need to capitalize on beating Bama and 10 wins. I’d love to see Bama in the Citrus or Outback with AU in a NY6, keep kicking them while they’re down.

I’m with you, but it looks like we’re in the minority. I want an NY6 bowl, regardless of the opponent. The players deserve the best bowl possible

I probably not doing a good job explaining my position. I care about the quality of the opponent's brand moreso than the quality of the opponent, if all things are equal.

If all things are equal, and for example, I think Michigan and Wisconsin and Minnesota are roughly equivalent, I want Michigan. It's better to win and it's less problematic if we lose.

If I thought we could steamroll Minnesota or Memphis then I'd be happy to take a cheap win over a lesser program. But I don't think those are lower risk games than Michigan. And they're probably fairly good competition that we could theoretically lose to, and 9-4 with a loss to a program in a lower tier would be a really sour end to this season, much like 2017.

Friday night Oregon and Utah play for the Pac 12 championship. Gonna need an IM thread.

Now that Utah has a playoff berth on the line, let's see if those PAC-12 officials protect the team. They were totally screwed in the game last year by the refs. I was hoping to get another Utah/Bama matchup where they could beat them down again. You can't go anywhere in Salt Lake without seeing pictures of that game.

IMO we would be favored in all of the match ups being mentioned...it's up to us to show up. I was in ATL and we didn't against UCF.

Team was different without Kerryon.

Last year the bowl game was our best game.

This group seems hungry.

That’s pretty surprising. Didn’t know they loved their college sports. Does Salt Lake have a small town feel?

Purdue wasn’t world beaters either.

I don’t want this offense to play a good defense

We are 2-4 in the Gus era. I just want a win for 10 wins and perception

For sure

We were totally deflated in 2017 though, and I don't think that's the case at all this season. We could play sloppy and lose, but I doubt we'll have serious motivation issues.
