An interesting playoff scenario if UGA beats LSU in the SECCG

If LSU loses to UGA in the SECCG you could potentially have:

1. Ohio St vs 4. LSU - Burrow vs his old team Ohio St
2. Clemson vs 3. UGA

If Ohio St wins and UGA wins you have Fields playing his old team UGA.

If LSU wins and UGA wins you get an SEC rematch.

If LSU loses to UGA there's a good chance they're out of the playoffs, sorry to say.

No way. LSU losing to uga in the SEC Championship still gets them in.

I wouldn't say it's a good chance, but they would have a problem if Baylor is undefeated or Oregon is a 12-1 conference champ.

As long as it is not a blow out LSU is still in. Unless LSU drops a game before that. A 1 loss LSU has a far better resume' still than any other team.

No chance. In fact, LSU should lose on purpose.

it would be the first time in playoff history a non-champ has gone over a conf. champ that had less than 2 losses. So sure, the committee could break the mold and do something different than they've ever done before, but if history is any guide than yeah I'd say it'd be a tossup.

LSU is in the SEC Championship Game already? I think the chances are above 90% but three games left

I hope the team doesn’t think this, and I doubt they do. I’d rather just see LSU beat a very good, going to be determined, Georgia team and win the conference. Who cares if Bama backs their way in again?

This.
The whole narrative of LSU losing and still making the playoffs needs to die. The SECCG is an elimination game.

LSU would still have a good shot to get in, but its impossible to know for sure without seeing how things unfold.

If Baylor, Clemson, and Ohio State or Minnesota goes undefeated and Lsu loses to Georgia they could be left out. An undefeated P5 conference champ has never been left out of the playoffs.

If that is the only L LSU would be a lock for the playoffs.

UGA lost to a horrendous USC team with their 3rd string QB. At home.

That's all fine and dandy, but UGA would have just beaten LSU on a neutral site and would be a 1 loss conference champion.

If there were 3 undefeated conference champions, LSU would be SOL.

Yeah under that scenario then yes. Only chance for that is Baylor as the P12 will at best have a 1L Champ.

IF OU beats Baylor this week LSU has a mulligan the rest of the way.

Better yet, Bama gets the 4th spot because they have a better loss than LSU. The melt would be worth it.
