Everybody. With the dang injuries piling up, it’s all hands on deck.

I’d like to get into some sort of farming, or agroforestry. From what I’ve been told, there’s quite a few things that can be written off. Equipment depreciation, expenses, etc.

Land buying aside, I’ve considered short term rentals as well. I’m just looking to help myself out as much as possible, as it pertains to taxes. I’m getting shellacked this year.

But, aren’t we all?

Agreed. It’s a stupid tradition. Besides, TP is expensive. ??

For the land buyers, real estate gurus…

I’m looking to buy some farmland. The property appears to be decently priced, and I’m looking at the purchase both as a long-term land investment and an income-producing agricultural business. Any legitimate farm-related tax deductions would obviously be a secondary benefit.

I may be able to talk them down a bit. I went speak with a land lender today to see about financing. Wow, the interest rates are ridiculous.

So my question is, is it worth it to buy now? Or should I wait until the interest rates come back down? I know “they aren’t making any more land,” and per acre prices have seemingly done nothing but rise over the years. It’s not an affordability issue. It’s more of a “do I really want to pay THAT much in interest” issue.

I’m open to any advice. Thanks!

I’ve been “prepping” for a little over 10 years. I consider myself to be a survivalist, more than a Prepper. There’s a bunch of resources out there on the subject. I recommend “Survival Theory” by Jonathan Hollerman, and “A Navy Seals Guide to Bugging In”.

I’ve believed all along that the biggest threat to the U.S. is an attack that wipes out our power grid. Most folks simply cannot function without electricity. So, I’ve kind of used that as my reason to acquire resources, learn some handy stuff, and train from time to time. Beans, bullets, bandaids….of course it’s a little more than that, but that’s a good place to start.

Keeping some of these coaches on the staff, after this season, is going to be tough. Especially Baker. I think some team will want him as HC. Weis will undoubtedly be a HC candidate as well. This staff is really good. I’d love for them to stay together for at least a couple of years. But in CFB, stuff changes so much, and so fast, there’s no telling what’s gonna happen.

Yeah, the weird part is that the charge showed up after I paid, but since has gone away. So, it appears as though I haven’t paid yet. But I’d love to get ahold of a damn human to tell me what’s going on. Apparently that’s not an option with them.

I hope they do, so we can finally move on from this bullshite.

I’m still driving my 2003 F-150 FX4 SuperCrew. It’s got 315,000 miles on it.

I just recently had to get a bunch of seals replaced. Rear main seal, oil pan seal, etc. The problem I’m having most is with those damn coil packs. I’m getting tired of replacing them. But let’s be honest, who wants to spend money on a new truck these days? They are completely overpriced.

I’ve got a couple of creeks on my land, and I’m looking for bridge ideas to cross them. I’ve been looking at some large steel pipe that I could then cover with dirt. What’s the best way to shore up the sides? Rip rap, concrete? If you’ve got some cool ideas, please share. I’m trying to keep the costs manageable.

Edit to add: My apologies for leaving zero specs on these creeks. Both crossings will be near the start of the spring fed creeks, with year round, slow constant flow. One has steeper approaches, and is about 10 feet across, which is where I was thinking of using the culvert. The other is gentler on the slope, but it’s about 12-14 feet wide. I’m thinking the rock base crossing might work here.

I’ll have to cross them with my 57 horse tractor and bushhog, and ATV’s. Nothing too heavy.
