You actually thought the ACC Network was created to show football?

The Big Ten Show

Here in the Big Ten, when you buy a championship shirt..you buy it for life. Michigan fans are probably still rocking that 1997 Lloyd Carr special.

In 20 years soccer will be bigger than college football. It is, after all, the true football game.

it's unwatchably boring. Only way I'm every going to watch soccer is if they reduce the size of the field in half, lace the field with booby traps, and set the ball on fire.

I have heard that for about 40 years. That won’t happen. Our men’s national team lost to Trinidad and didn’t go to the World Cup. Do you think anybody cared? Not really. Think about it our NATIONAL team lost to a country the size of Greenville SC.

There are just not enough people who care for it ever to be anything other than the forth most popular team sport in America

Women are falling more to soccer because they don't have real sports to play. I mean they try to play basketball..but watch a game with them...that isn't basketball.

Allow me to harp on how shitty the ACC is.

, they would show the ACC game of the week at 12:30.

That would put the 4th quarter about 5 to 10 minutes into the cbs 3:30 sec game.

ACC did this so they could get ratings in the fourth quarter from sec fans in nc and sc.

I don't know if that is true or not but it's hard to believe. Watching a soccer game is excruciating, they run back and forth kicking a ball around for hours and if the game ends with a score of something like 2-1 it's considered a damn shootout.

I don't have anything against the sport necessarily but it's not for me as a viewing option.

Nah. I’ll use real examples from the last two weeks. October 5th BC vs L’ville and October 12th Ga Tech vs Duke. Those games are not stealing eyeballs.

As of this year, ACC starting games at noon.

But in years past, they would purposely make Carolinians sit through a 4th quarter blowout of va tech vs Boston college.

Game would be like 36 to 13 but raycom would not roll over to a uga/uf first quarter.

ACC relied on pissed off sec fans waiting for their good game to come on. They started their games at 12:30 to do this. Smart but shitty.

Don't understand your issue with the ACC showing soccer games. As noted above, they had football games on Saturday @ 4pm and 7pm so it's not like football was ignored.

ACCN was created, in part, to showcase the non revenue sports. ACC just happens to be, by far, the best men's and women's conference for college soccer. It's niche sport and those who want to watch it now have that option.

How did you glean soccer games out of that post?

Furthermore, very few people on this board care about soccer.
