Was it Hess or Georgia’s terrible batting?

Small has a lot more strikeouts for the same number of innings pitched. He also issued more walks than Hancock but, still, strikeouts are devastating on paper and in person.

Worth noting that Small is also a year ahead of Hancock who will be a heavy favorite to win the award next year (I believe Ginn is eligible for this year’s draft, otherwise it’ll be a close race) and is believed to be the first pick in the 2020 draft.

Having been at that game, it was Hess. UGA batting is actually across the board better this year than it was last year. Same number of HRs, better slugging, better team BA. The idea that our bats suck is bizarre. They’re just not as noticeably good as Arkansas, MSU, and Vandy.

Ginn is a freshman and won’t be eligible until his Sophomore year (he will be 21)

Yeah Hess is a guy that can look like a top 10 draft pick some days and the complete opposite the next. His game against UGA this year was one of the better starts he's had at LSU.

I thought Campbell should have gotten an atta boy as well, but every team has a reasonable gripe about this.A testament to how salty this conference is.

I was glad Ezell got recognized,I don't think we are near as good without his contribution. He wound up being one heck of a pickup for us.

Mangum not getting POY after beating the hits record is a disgrace

That’s a great accomplishment but Bleday 100% deserves POTY IMO. His stats are ludicrous

It wasn’t even a little close. Mangum had absolutely zero shot.

To be honest, Mangum has been in a slump lately. I heard our own announcer at one point say he was 2 of last 15 at bats. I’m sure that didn’t help his cause.

I know several weeks ago he was among the best in the nation for fewest strikeouts. He had something crazy like 230 at bats and only 14 strikeouts on the year. That is insane.
