They'll get him but he will fail. Didn't Sherrill win a Natty somewhere? Syracuse or someplace like that? How many he won at A&M? how many did The Bear (6 NC at Bama) won at A&M? same number: Cero

Franchione, Sumlin seemed like home run hires. Hot coaches on the rise. Fran they took from Bama for crying out loud! That’even more eye opening that hiring someone from FSU.

They will spin the "we have the facilities now". A&M has always had resources compared to the time. No one had ipads on Jacuzzis in 1980 or whenever they hired Sherrill. Some things are just not meant to be. A Championship winning program that has guys grabbing each other’s nuts on the sidelines is not meant to be.

Fisher is a good coach but FSU is a Championship program. Bowden did more than Fisher, then he got old and lost his touch. Fisher took them back to where they belong. He didn’t invent FSU.

FSU will win another NC with another coach. We will see that. We will never see A&M win one. Never. Ever. The world will end before that happens.

Again, are we supposed to hire someone who’s never before coached?

Yeah, but the time before that (Jackie) it worked out great, except for the probation(s).

For a while there in the late 80's, we were the best professional football team in Texas.

Someone who was sick of all the meddling boosters. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians, so to speak. Same reason Jimbo wants to leave FSU. If he does take the job, it is because aTm has promised him complete control of the football program. The same promise Mal Moore made Saban to get him to come to Alabama.

What the hell kind of logic is this? By your reckoning, then, the following are currently in the same class as Jimbo Fisher:

Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Bob Stoops
Mack Brown
Lou Holtz
etc.

All resurrected "championship" programs.

No, the last time a&m "stole" a coach was when they hired john chavis. We see how well that worked out for them too. Lol. Aggy is aggy no matter who their coaches are.

Your comeback to him was a less severe blowout?

We beat Mizzou 73-0. His blowout is not only not his school, but not even a school related to this conference.

Well Saban and Meyer have done it at two places so that kind of separates them; though Meyer did it at 2 places that had relative recent success. He did raise Utah from scratch. Saban, specially at LSU did it somewhere that had not been done in a long time.

I don't recall the others how long it was but the point is relative recent times. Minnesota, Army and others won a lot of hardware in the early 1900’s. Someone establishes something there he is inventing it pretty much from scratch.

Miami was down recently but they had a great run as recent as the early 2000. FSU, Florida.. down now but we know it can be done there. Not easy for sure, it isn’t anywhere, but we’ve seen it. That's the point.
