Ok at this point with everything with SEC football about money and it stirring the drink I really don’t give a damn who we play.

I do find it funny that Saban has been trying to get 9 game SEC schedule until push comes to shove and he thinks the 3 permanent are Auburn Tennessee and LSU he’s the first coach against it. What a faux leader.

I don’t care who we play I just think the fans either at home or in the stadiums deserve 10 good games a year.

I'd be down for something like this. Also it's time to get Georgia and Alabama rotating every year.

it’s called 8 year rotation. But every team would be played in a home and home series every 6 years.

The 1-7 is the only one that makes sense to have a fair schedule for all teams having 4 home and 4 away each year. Plus you get to play all conference opponents home and away at least once in a player’s (4 year) cycle

Most conferences play 9 games. The 8 game schedule is for 1 year, 2024... Look for AU-UGA and UT-UA to play in 2024.

I predict we will go to 9 games, but more negotiation is required with ESPN, etc. Also give folks more time to get out of guaranteed payouts.

Not disagreeing with your post but other conferences need that 9th conf game for strength of schedule. The SEC doesn’t.

I don’t care what schedule format they go with. I was just mainly pointing out Saban’s hypocrisy

Totally agree. Wait for UT & OU to join and renegotiate the contract. Then go for 9 games. It is all about the money. Why give it to ESPN for free...

72 total, 8 more SEC games with the 9 team model. Absolutely need to get that cash out of ESPN.

If not, stick with 8. We don’t need the extra clout to get in the playoffs, so only do it if we are getting paid for it

We really don’t need the ninth game and I don’t know why a minority of fans within the SEC thinks it is a great idea or that it’s necessary. It really isn’t. The 9th game is a necessary evil for many, but not all conferences.

9th game possibilities

Best case scenario our 9th SEC opponent ends up being a zombie team we play at the end of the year after they already mailed it in.

More likely-

- We play a shitty team while being shitty ourselves. Like Bigbens says- it looks like two monkeys out there trying to frick a football.

-Our 9th opponent is actually pretty good. Those second half visors just turned into a dogfight just to save face.

Meanwhile, the roster hasn’t gotten any bigger. What does the SEC have to show for this?

WGAF about ESPN money? What is that doing for any of you? Money has already completely ruined everything good about the game yet it's still about more, more, more. F the mindset of our society.

Money dominates the world around us.

With divisions being abolished in 2024 the question is where Auburn fits in the future. Is Auburn just going to sit back and watch as new SEC teams become cream of the crop?

Justin Lee is already fearmongering Auburn becoming irrelevant if we lose the permanent Georgia gane. For much of my world as an Auburn fan we have always been top 15 and big six program however the losing streak punctuating a long streak of mediocrity has left Auburn out of the loop of relevance.

So why don’t we discuss the whole no divisions part. Who cares about money.

CFB was like the perfect sport to be a fan of just a decade or so ago. The 2012 conference realignment was the beginning of the end. It eroded how each conference represented a geographic region and showed long standing rivalries were not as important as the almighty dollar. Each major change after that one has seemed to up the ante as far as selling the soul of what made CFB fun to follow.

I think it might collapse under its own weight.

I sincerely hope so and all these greedy a-hole executives, players, coaches, ADs, presidents etc... get left holding their peens.

There’s a lot of societal inertia behind CFB that’ll keep it popular, it’s something that acts as a common interest and gets people talking around the water cooler on Mondays.

But I just think the experience of watching a game has been degraded significantly and will continue to degrade. The weekly tension of the regular season and the impact of an upset loss is pretty much gone. Annual rivalries are being lost and will continue to be lost. I mean that was the big draw for me to CFB over other sports, but I can’t speak for anyone else.
