Ah, thats bad news. One of the few that werent afraid to run in Herschels footsteps and make his own way after a legend of legends.

Respect.

He died with cancer.

Rapidly failing health.

Official cause hasn't been established/released.

Just saw that his son Donovan said it was the stage 3 throat cancer he was diagnosed with a month ago. Was supposed to start chemo this week and didn’t make it.

Nothing short of tragic.

He had some trauma there from an incident a while back, so that may have exacerbated it.

DGD and another awesome work horse for UGA backfield. Imagine him getting to watch UGA beat Michigan and then winning the NC was top of his list. Rest Easy Lars

Imagine if Worley and Henderson were eligible in 87 along with Lars and Rod Hampton.

Woulda been the current day version of what we see now as a true running back by committee, or at least a Thunder and Lightning.

Truth. He was a special athlete and impossible to stop near the goal line.

R.I.P.

He was one of my favorite backs from 84-87. Those were really cherished years for me because I was just old enough to really get into it; I went to my first game in 85; and used to listen to a lot of games with my grandpa. We had some good defenses and so many good running backs. I remember the one year Tate went over 1,000 yards rushing. RIP Lars.

He was the RB my Fr/So year at UGA. RIP and prayers for his family.

Respectfully, I started this thread a few days before you started your thread but didn't want to say anything when I saw yours pop up.
