Lane would be crazy to ever leave Ole Miss. He's a perfect fit there. The expectations are low, they'll pay him well enough, and he's in the best division in the best conference in football. Plus, at Ole Miss he can get away with doing stupid shite like playing on Twitter, going for it on fourth down from his own 30, and banging coeds and no one will give a shite. The fanbase also enjoys his immature, snarky little comments like "get your popcorn" when playing the GOAT.
Lane is always going to be all about Lane, and that's why he'll eventually leave Ole Miss, but he'll be a fool when he does. He's a perfect fit at Ole Miss, and he'll never be the type of man who will lead a bigger program to national championships. We all enjoy Lane's antics, and we like him right where he is. So stay, Lane. Stay for your own sake and the sake of Ole Miss.

If the playoffs expand to 12 teams, he can make it with some frequency at Ole Miss.

Lane is in an opportune position to take over the West when Saban retires

Miami just feels like one of those teams he would thrive at also. There aren't many, but Miami is looking for that old swag that can only come from ego and immaturity.

I'll say it again, Alabama will never hire Lane Kiffin to be the head football coach. It will never happen.

i agree that lane will leave because he is Lane. i disagree that he couldn't win a natty with a powerhouse team. he may come damn close at Ole Miss.

If I'm OU, I'm going all in trying to get Kiffin.

Honestly, I can't find any fault in your post.
That being said, he's just not leaving yet. When the perfect place opens, he will either go or we will make it financially stupid for him to do so. It's not this year.

That’s not what I meant. I think Ole Miss could legitimately take over with good recruiting. Their defense improved.

Lane + Arch and a 12 team playoff who knows? He would have a chance.

Lane is erratic and I seriously doubt any part of his life is in order enough or consistent enough to win a title. However, he definitely has talent. I just don't think he'll ever get out of his own way entirely. Jmo

In year 2 the man is 1 win away from accidentally backing into the playoffs. If we would have beaten auburn we would be outside the top 4 but we’d be sitting waiting for a few swing games to fall our way this weekend. Crazy to think about.

If by "some frequency", you mean once or twice every five years, that's possible.
Ole Miss likely would be in a 12 team playoff this year. And 10-2 on a fairly regular basis isn't an unreasonable expectation.

Ah, gotcha. I doubt Ole Miss will ever take over the western division. Alabama isn't going anywhere and neither is LSU. Auburn may dead for the next decade, so that helps.

I would have agreed with you before he won two conference championships.

That's a fair point. However, I am doubtful Miami would ever supply the financial backing, facilities, and support he would need to resurrect them.

True.

and neither is LSU
They've already gone.

Yes, I’m sure Lane’s personal life and mental health are in shambles.

JMO, but I think they'll be back. Until then, let's all continue to kick them while they're down.

I never said that. He does not behave or coach or in any way appear to be the type of CEO, organized, mature leader that we see from head coaches who win championships. Ed O was an anomaly. Lane kiffin winning a championship would be an anomaly in my opinion.
