He’s also a two point conversion away from having 3 losses.

That’s an easy thing to say the what if game.

This was a historic season for OM. First ever 10 wins in regular season.

Lane will stay unless a bigger school comes calling which hasn’t happened yet. I could still see him going to Miami if it opens. It’s an easy route to the playoffs like Riley did with USC. Also much easier to recruit to Miami and perfect for Lanes lifestyle

That's a fair point. However, I am doubtful Miami would ever supply the financial backing, facilities, and support he would need to resurrect them.

If Kiffin opens the pipeline to Coral Gables again, it's on like donkey kong.

The question is does he want to build OM into a consistent program (which is hard at any smaller program) or will he use Matt Corral to improve his stock value and jump ship to a big program where it’s easy to get top talent.

Corral was a large reason for his success this season.

This is true, but most teams that win have good QB play nowadays.

So Corral should be the runaway Heisman winner, no?

If he would have played decent against Bama and Auburn yes I think he would have won the trophy.

Performed against Bama when the game was over. Didn’t play well and the game got out of hand

Was 21-37 against Auburn with 1 INT

He should have easily won it but didn’t play as well down the stretch. He just had to do way too much this year and it took a toll on him.

This is coming from the school that hired Mike DuBose and Mike Price.

Hilarious.

In some ways yes, but for the meat of the schedule Corral was playing hurt and his passing game and running game really suffered. At that point the defense stepped up and so did the running backs. This was good game planning.

Yea I’d say Ealy and Conner and the run blocking from the OL had a lot to do with his success as well. They were a different team the latter half of the season and just as good. And I hated every minute of it.

If I'm OU, I'm going all in trying to get Kiffin.

Now that you mention it, that might be ou's best bet.

What can ou offer ol miss doesn't already have? Recruiting? More money?

He'd be able to recruit better at OU. Probably get a fat raise too.

That being said, he's just not leaving yet. When the perfect place opens, he will either go or we will make it financially stupid for him to do so. It's not this year.

If Miami replaces Diaz it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Lane going there.

he can make it with some frequency at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss has never, with any frequency, been a top 10 team. And now the SEC is about to add Texas and Oklahoma. How exactly do you expect to be a top 10 program frequently when they've once, in the history of their program, won 10 regular season football games? Because they're going to have to win 10 regular season games frequently to be in a 12 team playoff frequently.

We finally have an AD that gets it.....which is something we have not had in the past. He will do what he has to to keep us competitive.

Ole Miss has never had a real AD until now. Carter is willing to throw the bank at the program to become a power. We've never had that before.

Lane kiffin winning a championship would be an anomaly in my opinion.

You do realize he's won two, don't you?

Lane Kiffin has been the head coach of two national championship teams?

Maybe Kiffin was the reason for Corral's success. Posters who are old enough to have hair on their balls remember what Kiffin did with Blake Sims and Jake Coker.
