His first three years were 4 million per year. That’s 12 million.
He got two years of a contract extension , which was 6 million base per year plus 5 million paid over first two years. That’s 17 million.
He’s being paid 17 million to walk away.
That’s 46 million for 5 years. More than Jimbo over 5 years.

That's more than we paid Sumlin to get rid of him.

Well he has accomplished more in that time span than Jimbo.

He also won a national championship, something aggie hasn't done since World War 2

Who gives a shite?
Coaching salary smack is some of the weakest shite on this board.
Coaches make a lot of money because college athletics make a lot of money, and the football coach drives most of it. Everyone needs to get the frick over that. The contracts are only going to get bigger. For everyone.

Exactly. I've never understood the obsession over how much coaches get paid. It's not our money.

Damn. LSU will remain a poor school if they continue make dumb decisions like that. Why pay so much for ED? It's not like he had all these offers from the NFL or some big name program was going to come knocking.
They basically bid against themselves.
I understand he won big and deserved a raise, but the contract could have been more friendly towards the school if they decided to part ways. It's not like he had any real leverage.

Aggies would pay triple that for a NC.
All SEC schools not named Bama would

How much do you think a7m would be willing to shell out for a football national title? They've already paid jimbo a boat deal of money with nothing to show for it. How much longer will aggies will put up with that crappy production?

Unless I missed something , O won a NC. Let’s tally up what Aggy has paid over the years to average three losses per season.

Every SEC team is rich, so I don't see where this matters. It's the reason that OU/Texas decided to leach onto the conference - for the payout

Well this is not going well for you hahaha
