It was not. It was on the ground almost the whole way through til he rolled over.

It's only a catch if you are Bama, we all know this.

I didn’t think so.
But, it was Alabama.

Don’t be upset, Rusty.

No catch in my opinion.

I was shocked when they let it stand. I shouldn't have been, but I was

Even if the ball touches the ground, as long as it's under the player's control it's a catch. 5 years ago it wouldn't be but under the rules currently it's a catch.

Ball was controlled in bounds and he completed the catch. Seems pretty clearly a touchdown.

If I were reviewing it, I'm left only with the assumption that the ball hit the ground, which is not enough to overturn. IMO, the real crime was perpetrated by the call on the field.

Anyone who was shocked hasn’t been paying attention the past 10 years or so.

The NCAA rulebook details a number of requirements for something to be considered a catch, but these are the three main pieces. For a catch, the player:
1. Secures firm control with the hand(s) or arm(s) of a live ball in flight
before the ball touches the ground, and
2. Touches the ground in bounds with any part of his body, and then
3. Maintains control of the ball long enough to enable him to perform an act common to the game, i.e., long enough to pitch or hand the ball, advance it, avoid or ward off an opponent, etc.
Just looked it up on the NCAA website.

It's obvious the refs cheated for Alabama. That's the only way Bama has ever won any game, purely through cheating by the refs.
The refs only cheat for Alabama. Even when a penalty is called against Alabama, that's really just another way to cheat for Alabama.
Facts.

So much Bama jealousy. Sorry but 6 titles in 12 years happened.

What does it say about laying on the ground and being out of bounds and then gaining control?
