I called to congratulate a buddy of mine who is a huge Ole Miss fan.
He said, "we've turned the corner. We're gonna be national championship contenders in two years. We're SEC West contenders now."
I said I thought they'd won at Florida in 2003 so he shouldn't get too far ahead of himself.
His response, LSU won't win at Florida. LSU can't win at Florida and they certainly don't expect to win at Florida. I guess this is the reason I was hoping Florida would pull it out. That, and I preferred a top 5 game.
Big win by the way. Congrats Ole Miss.

They were in 2003, too. We beat them on their home field, play in the ATL and win the MNC, and they STILL hang a frickin' banner proclaiming their western division co-championship.
Notice to the Webels, beat the big 3 western division teams in one season, and THEN you are a contender in the western division.

This is exactly why I despise Ole Piss and could never root for them against any team.

note to ...Tiger on the prowl...the sign in ole miss stadium says "west champion" not co-champion. I live with that every day here in Miss.

Key difference. Bama at least has history and tradition on their side. With Ole Miss, it's pretty inexplicable.
