All of this is tradition that was started in the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
So probably what happened is one of the yell leaders in 1949 skipped like a dork while telling his story at yell practice the day before the Texas game. Then the Aggies beat Texas and the skipping dork chalked up the win to his dorky skipping.
So all the yell leaders started dork skipping during midnight yell just in case that was what led to the win. And a new tradition of dork skipping was born.

it's an outstanding school with one of the strongest alumni bases.
the woke meter is very low for a big university.
why have this sort of thing going on? it's unnecessary. the aggies i've met are all solid people.
