I’ll admit it… Georgia has the best defense I’ve ever seen.

Bama has had some REALLY good ones, but this UGA defense is unmatched.

Adding the context of how much the game has swung in the offense's favor it really is damn impressive.

Is this like a Pio thread?

Ain’t nobody here gonna want to read it, but it’s easily the best I’ve seen in my lifetime to this point. Whether they finish that way remains to be seen.
1992, 2011 & 2016 Bama teams have always been in the conversation for me. But what UGA is doing currently - in an age where even FCS schools put up points in garbage time - is truly remarkable.

Remains to be seen. Every offense outside of Clemson (which is downright terrible), has played into Georgia's defense strength. That would be stopping the running game.
Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky are all run teams with QBs that are limited at throwing the ball.
Really like to see them play a team that can challenge them vertically before any best defense ever gets put out there.
The bad news is there is no team on their 12 game schedule that has a QB capable of doing that.

Literally no one said 2020 UGA was one of the greatest of all time. We gave up 21 to Tennessee

I have not seen anyone outside of this board saying the 2021 UGA D is the GOAT. there were plenty of talking media heads last year saying the 2020 UGA D was the best in CFB this time last year. UGA finished #18 last year in scoring D

The last team to put up the kind of statistics this UGA team is doing was the 1992 Bama defense, widely considered the undisputed GOAT prior to 2011. That 1992 defense didn’t play an offense with a pulse all year long, and that was in an era where teams ran 50-60 plays a game instead of 80-90.
I don’t think it matters whether they play a team that can test them. Even elite defenses give up points to bad teams. Our 2011 defense gave up 14 to Arkansas, 14 to Auburn, and 21 to Georgia Southern.
This UGA team isn’t doing that. They are special.
