If I told you before the season we would be 4-3 at this point with a chance at 7/8 wins

Would you take it? I know losses suck, especially 3 in a row but we have to stay grounded. I think if we flip the Georgia auburn games we have a good chance of winning this game but that’s not it worked out. We are still on track to make a bowl, we will beat mizzou and should beat state and have a shot even against LSU (yes I know they won today). We are beat up physically and this bye and cupcake could not come at a better time. For those that remember we lost 5 games with a way easier schedule petrinos second year. The sky isn’t falling and we are still seeing improvements game by game. Odom and briles are still good coordinators, but that doesn’t make them perfect. Pittman will right the ship just give him time. We’ve come a long way in short time since left lane hammer down let’s remember what the bottom really looks like

We are exactly where I hoped we would be in the preseason. Cupcake and a bye week coming up with 3 of the 4 games left being winnable.

When you turn out to be better than you expect, regression shouldn't just be shrugged off.

We've outplayed every team that we've been on the field against except for Georgia, yet found a way to lose two of those games

Not LSU or Bama. Best chance is Missouri followed by State.

Best chance is UAPB and Mizzou if your being realistic.
6-6 is a great year in year two of Pitboss

It will probably be the Missouri game that will determine bowl eligibility. How convenient that is.

6-6 is ok and shows progress.

It would be soul crushing for that Mizzou game to keep us out of a bowl. We’re so snake bitten against them though that I’d prefer to be bowl eligible before then.

Agreed.

They have some voodoo hex on us, but for some reason they’re 1-6 against us since joining the SEC, winning the last 5 in a row. And they did it with 3 different head coaches, which is even more soul crushing.

Once you lose a certain amount of games, the season becomes less meaningful. The difference between 5-7 and 6-6 is one stays home in a warm bed and the other will turn into a block of ice against a Conference USA team.

True for the fans but we need the extra practices. We’ve missed out on 60 extra practices the last four years that our competition has gotten. That’s a huge difference.

Miss St should be a win. At home and we match up really well against them. Even if that falls through Mizz is extra shitty this year and will have nothing to play for by our game.

ohhh, with drinkwitz who wanted the AR job but for much more $$$ and having Odom as the DC, they definitely have something to play for. Not to mention the bragging rights of the streak.

It will not be an easy win, unless we get a few players healthy and win a few between now and then.

I think we bounce back and get at least 3 more wins, but maybe that's just me being optimistic.

UAPB - 99.99% W
MSU - 90% W
Missouri - 80% W
LSU - 65% W
Bama - 5%

State is perplexing to me. It looks like the type of game our team matches up well against because they don’t run the ball like Ole Miss. If we can get pressure with 3 then I like our chances but we haven’t been getting much pressure at all since A&M so who knows. If Rogers has all day to sit back there and throw then he’ll have some sort of 42-52 for 400 yards kind of career day.

My prediction was 5-7 so I'm fairly happy with where we are now. This team, at this point, was not going to get through this stretch of games and not take a beating. We still have UAPB to go and three of our remaining games are imminently winnable. 6 wins and a bowl game is a lot better than 2-10 and trying to shake off getting blown out by North Texas.

We drank the Kool-Aid, and it was delicious, earlier in the season but the reality was with this nightmare of a schedule we were screwed. Swap our schedule with A&M (who truly got a steak and blowjob schedule this year) and we would be debating whether we get 10 wins this year. Unfortunately for us, when we had the rare fairly easy schedule, Chad was our head coach and Western Kentucky was naming their score against us.

Beat UAPB and heal up, get past the Bama game and then see where we can pick one up down the home stretch to become bowl eligible.

I think these losses have taken some of the shine off Odom. Meaning, he's a less-likely head coach candidate next year. Not yet sure if that's a good thing or not.

That said, yeah, I'll take 4-3, especially given who we beat.

Missouri is really, really bad

If we lose to them, I will feel very poorly about where this program is going.

I have no problem with where we are right now.

I am mad we got fricked by refs at Ole Miss.

I am tired of the Kendall Briles slander, his offense is the veer and shoot. He throws to get people on their heals so he can run it. The game called on Saturday was a HC meddling in the offense.

Everyone shits on Kendall while he is putting up 20+ a game. No one shits on Odom, he is a god king, but he is giving up 30+ in the 3 losses.

Okay. I'm not saying this to attack you but do you have confirmation for that? Are we sure its Pittman micromanaging the situation or is it just the natural flow of the game?

We scored 51 against Ole Miss... was the Pittboss making Briles run only the plays Sam wanted? If so should Sam Pittman be his own OC?

Look, I think that Briles gets more heat with the fans than he should. I also think that Odom should have his feet held to the fire a bit more than he is right now. But unless we have actual confirmation that Pittman is micromanaging Briles and causing all of our offensive woes than I don't think we should be hanging all of this on him.

I'm just not sure I am buying into Pittman is ultraconservative in his play calls and over rides KB all the time when we ran a slow developing pass play in our end zone the last game. That doesn't fit the narrative very well.
