The "firehoses incident" at Auburn has been mentioned several times this week

For you younger posters or those of you with poor memories. Let's watch the video.
Auburn should have used rubber bullets and tear gas on these UGA vandals.

Or they could’ve just lost with class. But we all know they can’t do that

Police department should have lined up and opened fire on those redneck terrorists.

Probably should have used live bullets.

245 posts in 6 days? That seems excessive...?

We have a game this week. We're talking about things from decades ago. Why? I think I know why.

The way UGA fans talk about this I always pictured something on par with the hoses used in the 60s in Birmingham.
This looks like a bunch of white college kids running thru the sprinkler. As intimidating as kids at a car wash fundraiser.

It wasn’t firehoses, it was high-powered field sprinklers.
If the dawgs didn’t wanna be wet, they should have decided to celebrate with dignity rather than with redneck vandalism.

Also for you younger posters, opposing team's fans running on the field is actually very, very old and is what used to happen a long, long time ago.
Tearing your own goalposts down wasn't a thing. It actually came from tearing the opposition's down when you beat them in a big game on their field.
I don't blame Auburn for the hoses. But the whining back and forth on this is insane.
It's 2021 folks. There's a game this week. This week. X and O's? Or maybe it's too depressing to look at those.

Let's lay out some facts here:
1. The fans were warned several times to stay off the field. The fans who went on the field got exactly what they deserved. I believe Auburn had just planted new sod.
2. Auburn went too far because some regular fans were standing in the stands talking after the game when the water hoses were turned on to the fans in the stands.
3. It was reported that a 70+ year old man was hit with the water stream and severely injured when knocked down the stands.
Again...the Georgia fans on the field were wrong and got what they deserved. They were warned.
The fans in the stands did NOT deserve to be hit with the water hoses. As your own video shows the water turned and aimed at fans in the stands.

Fans on the field deserved whatever they got but then Auburn being Auburn, they turned water on the UGA fans in the stands.

My question is this. Why did the Auburn cucks just watch from the stands?

I was at that game, and it was pretty cold that night. I bet it sucked walking back to the car soaking wet in the cold. We did see a fight before the game. It was between two Auburn fans.
I think we had left before the sprinklers were turned on.

Did they have a press conference about this where a grass professor cried in front of everybody?

Should have used napalm

That was called the Hose Bowl for a long time afterward. UGA swore revenge but the Auburn fans didn’t act up when the War Eagles spanked the Dawgs 27-11 the next year.

I haven’t seen the field at JHS wet like that since the 2015 Iron Bowl when it was intentionally soaked.

I think the intro graphic was from the ‘88 game shirt at Tiger Rags which was the next time they came to town
I do agree with the one poster, it was different back then and storming the field as a visitor was more common. In Athens, it was pretty common for visiting teams to take part of the hedges. I think their fans wanted a souvenir too as it was a major upset. That’s why the PA announcer made the announcement prior to the end of the game
As to whether the apparatus was aimed in the stands—a few might have gotten misdirected

UGA cried and cried whenever that abysmal 2019 SCAR team tore up their shitty bushes in celebration.
