Maybe not duplicated by anyone against us, but it wasn't even Ole Miss's biggest output of the year.
Interestingly enough, their other top performance in terms of yards, pts and ypp (outside of Vandy which doesn't count) were Florida and South Carolina........who weren't great on defense but also ran a similar defensive scheme (though not exactly the same, but from the Saban family tree) of matching things, making perfect calls, etc.
vs Alabama - 48 pts, 647 yds, 7.52 YPP
vs Florida - 35 pts, 613 yds, 7.86 YPP
vs South Carolina - 59 pts, 708 yds, 8.85 YPP
Agreed.
And as far as what Moses said, here's his quote after the game...
"“I definitely think so,” Moses said Saturday night. “Like, he was our coach for three years. I wasn’t here when they were here but if you were a coach somewhere for three years, I’m sure you would pick up the signals.”
When our defense is on the field when Kiffin was here, I think he spent zero time paying attention to our defensive signs. What do people think he was doing when the defense is on the field? Watching Kirby Smart? He was probably paying almost no attention to what was happening on the field.
Which brings up another point...with Kirby on an enemy sideline now, does anyone really believe we had the same defensive signals in 2020 that we had when Kiffin and Kirby were here together? Seriously?
Anyone other than Dylan Moses, that is.

You're implying Kirby Smart did not do this?
Do you have actual proof that this happened?

A picture of Kirby taking a picture?
That's so meta.

I don't think it was specifically stealing signals, I do think it was exactly what was discussed by OP in terms of what Lane knew about us and our system and how we call it. Lane knew all of our tendencies, how we'd react to certain things working/not working, how we'd audible/adjust, etc. And he's the best there is at exploiting stuff like that. And he did, for 4 quarters.
Logic! Thank you

quote:Ole Miss didn't have to steal signs, their play-caller had called plays against Saban's defense for three years and designed the offense with Saban. We need to accept that Lane Kiffen knows our defensive alignments better than any other coach, and he's a genius at calling plays
If they think sign stealing actually happened, then that means Golding had a real excuse

I think that's all Saban was trying to say.
But like the Constitution, Bible and everything else under the sun, people will read the same thing and come to wildly different conclusions about what happened and what was said.

As we all know, Lane is better than anybody at seeing an alignment and calling a counter to it - even more so when he knows exactly what stuff a team does out of that alignment in that situation like he does with us.
Indeed.

but that Ole Miss was unable to duplicate against any other team. They put up fewer yards against Vandy.
Incorrect. Ole Miss rolled up 708 yards on South Carolina last year. And they only had 2 fewer yards (645) against Vandy than they did against Bama (647). Probably because they pumped the brakes with a 33 point margin.
Using your logic, Bama was able to generate more yards (723) against Ole Miss last year than any other opponents they faced. That would be 73 more yards than Bama gained against any other opponent in 2020.
Maybe Nick knew Kiffin's signs too?

There's no way in hell Kirby did this because he's not that clever.

It’s the most logical explanation for what we saw last year,
While we were stealing signs you’d think we’d also steal the offense signs too so we could play a little defense

Hey Tuscaloosa this is interesting to talk about. On your side of the argument Nick alluded to this and he has never done this. The numbers are ridiculous also.
On the other side the quickness of our offense almost looked like we were doing what we were going to do regardless of your degrease. Y’all couldn’t even line up sometimes.
Also it could come down to the cerebral and athleticism / arm of an elite talent like corral. I saw him make some unbelievable throws that were indefensible.

You’re acting like it certainly happened. You keep saying it in multiple threads. Kiffin understanding Bama’s weaknesses because of his time here is far more logical. Yet you keep insisting they stole Bama’s signs.
