There were like 3 other WRs running routes too and I doubt they were fades. And we don’t know who the primary receiver was in that play either.

Regardless, it worked so why complain?

If you were triggered I’d be okay with that. But because Justin Lee wrote that I’m pretty sure Lee is just making fun of the Malik Willis and Gatewood truthers and I resent that because goose is still fambly.

There’s nothing wrong with a fade being a route down there, especially in fourth and long. The issue is when it’s the main read. Everyone can’t run crossing routes.

1. It did not work.
2. Because continually calling fades to Shedrick Jackson would be stupid

Kobe Hudson was the target at Penn State.

And we scored so yes, it did work.

I read that somewhere last night and I just shook my head.

Ok continually calling fades to 6’2” WRs with inaccurate QBs would be stupid

The play call did not work. Also making the argument that it worked so why complain is stupid.

From what I read last night, the first read was the fade to Shed. At least that's what Harsin said.

Watch the same play from both games. Big difference is, Nix took the snap and immediately launched the ball. He did not "read" anything. The receiver was barely across the goalline when the ball hit the ground out of the endzone.

Harsin and Bobo need to take the fade out of the playbook until we get the personnel to run it.

Unless you have an elite QB/WR combo (or te) the fade is an absolutely lazy and uncreative play that loses most of the time.

I have no problem throwing a back shoulder fade. If timed right and the ball is placed correctly there is absolutely nothing a DB can do to stop it. It’s a much easier pass than the typical fade. But running a fade on the short side of the field as a last ditch effort is borderline retarded. It’s a 1/10 ball.

You need a big physical WR that has the ability to snatch the ball out of the air. So far I haven’t seen that WR on this roster

It's good for forcing a db to make a play or draw a flag. In the penn state game it looked just like we were trying to draw a flag with no intention to play the ball. Which still was an awful decision.

Unless we have an ELITE WR, there is absolutely not reason to throw a 50/50 ball. Right now, that play has a higher likelihood of being incomplete or intercepted than being a completion.
